While being HIGHLY underrated, Oz Fox is SURELY in the EXACT same league as George Lynch, Zacch Wilde, Randy Rhodes and ALL the rest! (And Mike ain't too shabby neither!)
Oz is most definitely a guy whose humility & character screams "I'm no rock star" like no other guitar virtuoso, perhaps in all of recorded music history. I got to hear him play several hours prior to shows in NY, as well as several more in Pittsburgh, PA. I worked the old Civic Arena in Pittsburgh, as an usher, which afforded me the opportunities to see/ hear many of the all-time greats play both live shows, as well as also hearing many practice & 'tune-up' multiple guitars. From the earliest of my memories,(Frank Marino/ Carlos Santana/ Gary Moore/ Jimmy Page), to more up to date musings, (Eddie Van Halen/ Tipton/ George Lynch/ DeMartini/ & a lot of '80s guys), Ox Fox takes a backseat to nobody I've ever heard. He is incredible!

How cool is it they have their album artwork (even the banned artwork for THWTD) onstage. That is marketing right there. It is also cool how Robert still faces sideways so the audience gets to see him. Visual timekeeper indeed.
Great video thanks for posting.. but there's like a law I believe that when Crazy Train is being played the camera must stay on the guitarist 100% of the song.. just sayin'.. :)
Is it just me, or does Robert's snare drum sound kinda awful here? It's like he threw the switch to drop the snare so the snare is like another tom, but then forgot to flip it back to secure the snare to the bottom of the drum. Causing the snare to sound unusually boomy for a snare.
What you are hearing is the extremely loud audio recorded through a cellphone mic. The mic, which has an amplifier in circuit, when ambient audio is loud should reduce the automatic gain control (AGC). In this cas it can't reduce the AGC any lower so when the audio level is too loud the mic clips because its being overdriven. In this case the snare is too loud which causes the mic to clip which ends in distortion in the audio recording.

Awesome. Oz blazes through the Van Halen like it’s nothing. Robert Sweet is not the most technically advanced drummer but dude is solid and keeps excellent time.
I heard sometime ago that he does it so the audience can see him play, thus the nickname "the visual timekeeper". If this is true it makes sense as some people who go to the shows are drummers and would like to see the drummer as well as the other band members.
Little cell phone microphone becomes saturated by how loud the sound is. Ive been to several Stryper gigs and Robert's drum have always sounded awesome.
