    She's sacrificed her ex boyfriend, shot and killed her brother, and wiped her family's memories to ensure Kara's safety. If bringing Kara back to her side means throwing a few thousand people's souls away, Lena is willing to do it.
    Sweet Rao in space, Lena loves Kara.

      Dude I'm sorry but this is such a weird take. This was the farthest thing from a romantic moment. If Lena had gone through with this, Kara would have been traumatized forever, and never would have forgiven Lena. Imagine poor Kara living with the guilt of knowing Lena did that. Wondering why 5 years of serving as a moral example for Lena STILL wasn't enough to teach her compassion and the value of human life. It's amazing to me they're even friends considering their moral world views are irreconcilable.

      @@atr1845 Oh, I didn't say it was a GOOD thing. That kind of devotion is actually unhealthy in this case, as Lena's acting not only out of love but out of guilt for HURTING the one she loves. And I'm pretty sure Alex said that Kara wouldn't want this.

      Even when she was angry at Kara during season 5 she refused to sacrifice her. She chose to create tension with Andrea instead of outing Kara's identity, she had a panic attack when the Kryptonite cannons were poised to kill Kara, she could have escaped the fortress with Myriad and given an excuse that she was attacked without anyone knowing and aloud Kara to fight Rama Tut alone but made sure Kara was safe before letting Kara know what she was up to. Lena ran to Kara's apartment begging to be believed the moment she knew Lex had plans to kill Kara. Point is, no amount of anger could cause Lena to allow anyone or anything to hurt Kara, but she was willing to hurt so many others for the greater good. She trapped Eve in her own mind so that her AI could use Eve's body. She trapped Jon's brother to use his power so that she could control people. She threatened to have Andrea's boyfriend kill himself to get the medallion and then let go unprotected knowing he would be killed and yet, never let anyone hurt Kara no matter how angry she was at her. Yeah that is some "friendship". Lol

      The betrayal to Kara is Alex dated her best friend, the one friend she really chose for herself, would be incredible. Chyler actually pitched the idea of Lena and Alex and Katie McGrath shot that idea down cold. Katie said Lena didn't have many friends and she wouldn't jeopardize the most important friendship she had by dating her sister. Melissa said that if Alex took Lena, Kara would pull away from them both. That idea for shot down real fast lol.

      @Ldog113 but yeah, Chyler did a Webcam interview with the actress that played Kelly and she said before Kelly officially joined the show, while Alex had her mind wiped in season 4, she proposed Lena and Alex kiss, since they had started getting very close and both were feeling angry at Supergirl and were being avoided by Kara (for different reasons of course). But according to Chyler Katie said the fans would turn on both Alex and Lena if they did that too Kara and lena would not do that to Kara. Chyler said Melissa had said the instead of being angry, Kara would try and let them both be happy and just distance herself further, which Chyler said she actually agreed with so dropped it lol

    • @ryanabate1981

      @Ldog113 I felt like while Alex had her memories wiped, yes her and Lena clicked. Lena was never xenophobic exactly, but she did want humans to be better. Alex on the other hand was a little xenophobic and both had issues with Aliens having powers. But once Alex got her memories back, I just don't see her and Lena like that. I always felt like Alex saw a dark part of herself in Lena and resented her for that. Let's not forget Alex actually tried to kill Lena with Claymore to stop her from using Myriad until Kara stopped her. Alex never really trusted Lena until season 6 but by that point Kara and Lena had gone through so much just to get their friendship back, no way would she rock that boat.
      But let's look at them as girlfriend's, let's say it happened. Doomed relationship in my opinion. They both are very physical women, so the intimacy part wouldn't be an issue, but they suck at emotions. They would both bottle it up until one of them exploded on the other. Alex needed a Kelly, Lena needed a Sam or Kara. They needed partners who could balance them out lol

  • @atr1845
    @atr1845 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    This was frustrating to watch. This was NOT a hard choice. Painful, yes, but not hard. Or at least it shouldn't have been, but apparently was for Lena. Good thing Alex didn't trust her to do the right thing. Bc it looks like 5 years of being around Kara haven't been enough to inspire Lena to finally become a decent human being, one who wouldn't even consider letting innocent people die just to assuage her guilt sooner. (Also, it begs the question... Why wouldn't have Lena felt guilty about letting those people die? WTF?)

    • @myriam.b5693
      @myriam.b5693 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I don't think she thought about it that much. Alex throw that on her and didn't get her time to even process it. But i am sure she would have done the right thing if Alex let her some time.

    • @atr1845
      @atr1845 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@myriam.b5693 I honestly don't think she would have. She has a VERY long track record of not thinking through the inevitable moral consequences of her actions, even when she's straight up told what those will be (like when James warned her the government would weaponize her work, which was already frankly a moral dumpster fire, and yet she went ahead and did it anyway). And she judges the rightness of her acts after the fact, depending on whether the outcome was good or bad. She's never really understood the objectivity of ethics: that actions are either right or wrong independent of the outcome. Nor does she grasp that many of her choices were inherently immoral, just like she still doesn't get that her plan to mass-violate humanity was evil. She talked about it in court as a good thing that lex corrupted, omitting the part where she was trying to inflict it upon the world without their consent. Same with her murdering him. In retrospect she told Brainy killing lex was a bad thing bc it didn't lead to the outcome she wanted, not because, you know, MURDER IS WRONG.
      So when she said to Alex afterwards that she was right, it's because the outcome was good and they successfully saved people. But even if they'd failed, it STILL would have been the right thing to do. What Kara would have wanted them to do. It's amazing that after all these years of friendship with Kara, Lena still can't understand these basics. I can't believe I'm still rooting for this character to finally achieve bare minimum humanity.

    • @cikacido9185
      @cikacido9185 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@atr1845 I guess it has something to do with her upbringing. She was raised as a Luthor after all. And even with bitterness to say this, they are inherently selfish. Look at Lillian and Lex. Lillian doesn't have the megalomaniac ideology of Lex but she still does things just because she feels it will give her her son back. Maybe it's a matter of priority. For people like Kara and Alex who grew up with parents with jobs who basically service the humanity and then dive into that themselves, it's easy to push through selfishness and go back to their roots that is to save humans. But for Lena who grew up with selfishness disguised as concern and lacking of people she can love fully and return those (and show it in a healthy way) it's harder to put a society who have done nothing but shames and punish her for her last name before Kara who have shown her what love can looks like.
      I don't doubt that she believes in saving humanity. In fact, her revenge project were built because she thinks it could save humanity from a world of pain. But from what I've seen, when the choice is between humanity and her loved ones, that selfishness have always won
