The Jews in the days of Christ were going to church just like today, but they rejected the true Church, the son of God who was the head of the church. Please read Matthew 16. There you you will see the first step off becoming a part of Christ church.
The only difference is the fact that he asked that we rest on the 7 day just as he rested. But some of us because it's convenient would rather rest on the first day. Now that is obeying man . He said if you love me keep my commandment. Also Remember the 7th day to keep it holy. Blessings!!
