Ok Matt, education time from a true Vol fan. 1. "Nico not as good as we thought he'd be". Wrong. He's the first UT FR QB to win ten games. He won more than 8 or 9, still had FR issues as any QB has that has been great. He did this despite the less aggressive offensive scheme. 2. Gimmick offense. Son, it wasn't gimmick, it was just too basics. Actually go back and look at the 22 offense as well as Heupel's offenses before it. They all ran more dynamic routs. This year we avoided throwing more and the WR routes were mainly straight routs with a few comebacks. Not much more beyond that with a heavy run leans. Gimmick implies there is a structure to it that is more dynamic. If Jalyn Hyatt were at TN this year, he'd have very average stats because Heupel's OC Halzle ran what he has in 23 and 24. 3. "TN fans are wondering if we are ever going to win more than 9 or 10 games a season". Are you high??lol. In 23 we reached 9 wins for only the second time since the Fulmer era ended some 17 years ago. 22 season was the first season we hit 9 wins plus. So averaging 10 wins over the last 3 seasons is new territory for TN fans and it's about time. 4. White #3. White is only 5'9 in heels and very small frame WR. This is not good when you have a 6'5 QB whose a FR and all FR tend to throw high as FR. This means White isn't as much of a target as he was for a more experienced Milton. Even during MIlton's time, White was hurt. This year, White was hurt. He's very injury prone being as small as he is. This is hard to be in the SEC. He was 3rd most of the season on the depth chart if not 4th. Love the guy but he needed to go where he can get more catches with defenses that aren't the SEC. Way to physical for him. He didn't do as well this past year in receiving. More drops, more injuries. The scheme also didn't help get him the ball more. But when you see 5 stars like Mathews and some others moving up the chart past him, well, it's time to look for more opportunity elsewhere. Can't blame him, don't blame him, he gave his all for TN.
Nico was a true freshman QB...not many true freshmen QBs can go out there and perform incredibly well in their first full season. He will develop more this off season. I was honestly shocked we made the CFP, and I believe that the next 2 seasons, our chances are actually better to get back in it than not.
Nico should get better next season.. hopefully; but Tennessee should have made the playoffs this season. They had an easy schedule and played all their tough games at home except Georgia. Their schedule next year is even more of a joke. They play all cupcakes in their nonconference schedule, so they should win 10 games again next season. They won't win at Bama and they'll lose to Georgia, so they'll be 10-2 in the regular season again
@ I totally agree, I think we may beat Georgia since it’s in Neyland. Florida and Alabama are the two games I’m worried about the most, especially because the Florida game is at the end of the season now
Hey Matt I get that it is very difficult to work as hard as you do as you approach 40 years old but I appreciate everything you do and keep up the good work

You right about bama being the best the past 15 years but you still gotta be able to evaluate teams based on how good they are right now without bias, bama and georgia were clearly in off years and espn as a whole acted like they were as good as they always were. The pats are the best NFL team of the past 25 years, see why that means nothing when evaluating teams as they stand.
There is an SEC bias. There’s no denying that. ESPN has a financial interest in the SEC and pushes them daily. Regardless, it’s what we’ve gotten and there’s not more that can be said about it. Kudos to you for the vids, man!
White is undersized and stays banged up when he isn’t completely out due to injury. Hell a Vandy late hit, completely ignored by an official looking right at it, hurt him. And it was basically a shove. I usually wish all of them luck when they make these sensible decisions to transfer. Usually to play closer to hime or get more touches. He got fewer and fewer touches because he needs more time in the weight room.
Every move for every player isn’t solely about money. We have to remember these guys have family and personal relationships that play a part in their decision making. Life throws curve balls every chance it gets. Sometimes an athlete’s decision to transfer is a response to something personal or private we know little to nothing about. Show support and keep it moving 🤙🏼
Matt, it has to be the bag. Squirrel White was injured last year for most of the season. He wants to be more involved in the offense. The only reason I can think he would leave is he got told he was going to be a bigger option in fsu's offense and they probably offered him more money.

My dad spoke with Nathan leacock(another Tennessee transfer) and he said everyone hated the wr coach so all the wrs are leaving. He also probably just wanted money and that explains why he went to somewhere like fsu instead of another sec team
They should make a rule where players can enter the transfer portal one time in their four year career and can transfer one more time for their graduate year, this flipping two multiple teams is watering down “teams” to a point it’s a complete new starting lineup year after year, the grass isn’t greener on the other side all the time 😢

Jeanty didn’t have a great game against Penn St. but he really showed me something in defeat he looked like a fast Archie Griffen ! He battled & turned 1 yard runs into 4 yard runs while Penn State totally played to shut him down. I had not seen him until that game, so I wasn’t biased toward him. Lions fan here & he might turn into a Gibbs like back.
Problem people had with Herb was he believed Teams Like Bama and South Carolina deserved to be in the playoffs..Bama Lost to Michigans 3rd string and SC lost to Illinois lol
Mattbediddy obv hasn’t been paying attention FSU has gotten a ton of transfers Also “one of the worst coaches in cfb” when bama was trying to take norvel
Did you not see the season fsu went through by overusing the portal? We all expected fsu to dominate based on the roster they had thanks to the portal, but they ended up being worse than a disappointment
@@user-vx2fw7qe1nfsu used the portal differently this season than they had in previous seasons. That was really the issue. Norvell was never able to get 5 star talent and had to rely on scouting unknown players like verse and fiske. Last year I think Norvell had access to actual 5 stars for the first time in his life and assumed that if they came from uga or bama they must be good. And they were not. On top of not firing coaches he needed to because we went undefeated in the regular season or out of too much loyalty. I think he’s corrected both of those mistakes.
The SEC has the best talent. The SEC also just so happens to lose in the post season. What we really don't want to talk about is how other colleges have kids from the south east and how the SEC as a whole doing bad in the post season isnt new. The SEC has been CARRIED by Bama and Georgia 😊
UT is a traditional powerhouse blue blood. They just had a bad stretch from like 05-2021. It happens to all blue bloods. I remember when we beat bama almost every year and I'm only 40.
Money, money, money, money. Winning and building a national championship team is the last thing college football players think about in today’s college football landscape.
The problem isn’t hyping Bama in the past. The problem is hyping them even when they’re obviously down. This year was a perfect example. You still had morons clamoring that they should be in the playoffs. What they’ve done for the last 15 years means jack shit this season. To pretended ESPN doesn’t have a bias towards the SEC is comical though. Best football conference in the country so I don’t know why they have to be so biased towards them. Maybe it’s because they’ve invested a shit ton of money in that particular conference.
Love your work younglife. You have a great point of view and express yourself well. I'm a seasoned dude from L.A. and I agree with alot of what you say. That said...California has a ridiculous amount of talent at all levels...we are always top 3.
Mattbepushin100 i think the reason he left is because, well, he was injury prone most of the year and he kept getting beat up constantly, Or it was the offense focusing on running the ball more than passing, not entirely sure.
It is also interesting that Ohio State took several of the SEC’s players like Caleb Downs, Julian Sayin ( projected to be really good), Keenan Nelson Jr., Seth McLaughlin, and Quinshon Judkins.
They recruited Sayin and Downs out of high school and in both cases it came down to Ohio State and Alabama and again in both cases they chose Saban. Since he retired, they transferred to their second choice (Ohio State) at the time they were in high school. As for Mclaughlin, he was pushed out by their new coach and he wanted to go somewhere new that could compete for a championship, so he chose Ohio State. Quinshon Judkins was friends with Henderson and wanted to play with him at Ohio State. That's how those guys ended up at Ohio State.
Love the videos, Matt! But I have a challenge for you who ever you pick for the osu vs texas game next year if they win you don't get the punishment but if you lose you will have to put on auburn gear every wear you go for the rest of 2025 and the iron bowl youll be at the game with an aburn jersey on!
Oh lord 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 i seriously can not with these comments!!! 😭😭😭 Literally one of the only reasons i watch marvins videos. Oh man these comments have me rolling every single time. Marvin should make a whole video of reading the comments and just reacting to them it would make my week! But seriously love the videos keep it up!
White really fell off this last season. He was shown the door. And it is great that he is able to get more money than UT woulda paid him. Vols did this last year with the secondary. This year the Vols are upgrading WR
That’s why now we seeing in the transfer portal player’s transferring to Bama & LSU from smaller schools simply because of the opportunity to go pro but it’s talent EVERYWHERE . Some ppl in smaller areas not big on football just don’t get the same recognition.
How does Matt think that Jeanty is a 2nd-4th round pick? He’s probably a mid 1st, Jeanty would have done the same thing in the power 4 because he would have had a competent Oline that could actually block for him. Also you know when you’re a special player when the entire game plan is shutting you down and teams still struggle to do it.
@ I agree but Jeanty is putting up freak numbers with teams knowing exactly what Boise State is going to do every week. It literally would have taken Matt 2 minutes to look at draft boards and see how absolutely absurd that take was.
Mattbecrazy…..Ashton Jeanty was the best RB in college football last year hands down and it wasn’t even close!! Most NFL scouts have him being a 1st round pick in the up coming 2025 NFL Draft!
I'm looking forward to Nico's junior year and further. It takes time and development for these kids to get better. I think heupel can develop good quarterbacks just look at Dillion Gabriel? I'm curious on why Josh didn't bring him to TN.
This may not be right for this situation but I’m starting to think that there are a lot of players, specially the younger ones, who don’t want to compete, a lot of these 4*/5* and some lower rated players were superstars where they came from in their high schools, then they get to a big school like bama, ga, OSU, etc and most of those players were the big stars where they are from but now they are just a regular fish in a big pond and some of them have never really failed before so they are scared to risk failure so instead they decide to not compete by leaving a big program and going to a big 10/big 12/acc school that prob will go 8 & 4 but they will be the best player on the team This prob isn’t the case in most situations but I do believe that in some cases this is 100% true and it’s a shame but it also shines a light on how kids are raised these days
I don't understand why you members and fans are making fun of Matt. He might be Bama-Biased, but we all are biased of our teams. Lions fan here & he might turn into a Gibbs like back.
Problem people had with Herb was he believed Teams Like Bama and South Carolina deserved to be in the playoffs..Bama Lost to Michigans 3rd string and SC lost to Illinois lol
Mattbediddy obv hasn’t been paying attention FSU has gotten a ton of transfers
Also “one of the worst coaches in cfb” when bama was trying to take norvel
Nico was in his first year of playing college football and he got better as the year went along he will be just fine next year
ashton jeanty is the name of a college legend
Not really
3:13 #MattBeTrying2BeAnEnglishteacher. The statement was grammatical correct.
Hey Miles been here for a while and wishing you the best Mortimer!
@@travisgregory8971 UT is not a blueblood
Squirrel did not want to compete with Amari Jefferson?
Skip to the literal 10 minute mark to hear about Squirrel
Love your work younglife. You have a great point of view and express yourself well. I'm a seasoned dude from L.A. and I agree with alot of what you say. That said...California has a ridiculous amount of talent at all levels...we are always top 3.
Mattbepushin100 i think the reason he left is because, well, he was injury prone most of the year and he kept getting beat up constantly, Or it was the offense focusing on running the ball more than passing, not entirely sure.
MattBeGettingItRoughFromDiddy back with another banger, btw happy 69th birthday!! 🥳
My guess is it's the style of offense, maybe? More of a pro style offense that gets him ready for the draft? Idk, im grasping at straws here.
That's how those guys ended up at Ohio State.
tOSU is buying their way to the top. And it’s working
@robertcox7555 They don't even have the highest NIL. EVERYBODY is doing it. It's not the College football I grew up on anymore, you too I'm guessing.
It’s easy. Bro got a baddie at the school and she wanted him to come be close to her lol
Why are all the best athletes from the South East like you say, Matty
White really fell off this last season. He was shown the door. And it is great that he is able to get more money than UT woulda paid him. Vols did this last year with the secondary. This year the Vols are upgrading WR
I don't see how Tennessee could've gave him the ball anymore that what they did. He has the 2nd most receptions on the team
That’s why now we seeing in the transfer portal player’s transferring to Bama & LSU from smaller schools simply because of the opportunity to go pro but it’s talent EVERYWHERE . Some ppl in smaller areas not big on football just don’t get the same recognition.
Matt I love your channel and your videos are amazing. Squirrel White has a high ceiling but he is wasting its go to a FSU.
To be fair, rbs are less valued
@ I agree but Jeanty is putting up freak numbers with teams knowing exactly what Boise State is going to do every week. It literally would have taken Matt 2 minutes to look at draft boards and see how absolutely absurd that take was.
@@FMM._they are becoming more valuable now because every nfl team is running cover 2
Mattbecrazy…..Ashton Jeanty was the best RB in college football last year hands down and it wasn’t even close!! Most NFL scouts have him being a 1st round pick in the up coming 2025 NFL Draft!
9:20 bro I remember you saying he was the best QB in high school football
9:37 It’s a true freshman Mark. I know you’re 40 but you ain’t that far gone
I’m a Tennessee fan and Nico is a redshirt not a true freshman
@ Oh…
Just title the video "Matt cries about how the Sec is the best" and stop with the click bait.
8:20 is when the video actually starts
MattBeSlurpingBama's🥜 back with another video.
So FSU can't turn it around in a year especially with the transfer portal? One year does not make a program.
Margret keepin us tapped in!🤞🏽
People act like Kirk Herbstreit didn't play at Ohio State ...
Bro went from a rubbish fire to a burning building
I'm looking forward to Nico's junior year and further. It takes time and development for these kids to get better. I think heupel can develop good quarterbacks just look at Dillion Gabriel? I'm curious on why Josh didn't bring him to TN.
Hey Matt, a freshman QB drove his team the length of the field and threw the game winning touchdown on 3rd and 6 against your team.
This may not be right for this situation but I’m starting to think that there are a lot of players, specially the younger ones, who don’t want to compete, a lot of these 4*/5* and some lower rated players were superstars where they came from in their high schools, then they get to a big school like bama, ga, OSU, etc and most of those players were the big stars where they are from but now they are just a regular fish in a big pond and some of them have never really failed before so they are scared to risk failure so instead they decide to not compete by leaving a big program and going to a big 10/big 12/acc school that prob will go 8 & 4 but they will be the best player on the team
This prob isn’t the case in most situations but I do believe that in some cases this is 100% true and it’s a shame but it also shines a light on how kids are raised these days
Hey Marv third time here trust me that sun bowl will be the best win in bama history
As a Tennessee fan let me say, "Make that money Squirrel, UT will be just fine without you."
I'll admit that when someone said Cailloubegreat I laughed ass off.
Is alabama the best anymore? No. So what you gonna say matt when sec doesn’t win nattys the next 5-10 years
I don't understand why you members and fans are making fun of Matt. He might be Bama-Biased, but we all are biased of our teams. He gives us college football news everyday and keeps the off-season exciting like Uncle Lou. Love the videos, and hope you and your Boyfriend are living life to the fullest. Keep making videos, and don't worry about the fans, because even the haters like you.
@@danielrobinson9493 i just like to crack jokes but yea good point he is one of the best cfb youtubers
MaggyBeLesbian I love watching your vids cus your so open to your ideas of be attractive to the same gender. I know u have been getting some hate about that but I will always love that part about you.❤❤❤
Mattbeticklemypickle needs to read his comments more. Alabama sucks and congrats on turning 70.
