This video has proven to be extremely helpful. I have three batteries that are so dead they are literally d.e.d.
Charging time for the 1st battery from 0v to 21v was ~ 18 minutes. Once the battery got to 18v the charge time to 21v went at a faster pace.
    Thanks again for this tutorial!!

One of my inspire 1 batteries was not charging and flashing one light as described. I tried to charge it several times with the same result. Today I thought I would try one last time. So I connected it up as usual, and then I asked Google for a fix! It came up with this video on TH-cam, so I watched the video, with my back to the flashing battery. The video was really great. The guy explained if so well that even an idiot (ME), would understand it! When the video finished I turned around AND THERE WERE TWO LIGHTS FLASHING! IT WORKED!!!!! As Donald Trump says....GOOD JOB!

You sir just saved me £600 as I had 4x dead TB48s I left too long in the shed! First one is now charging up nicely thanks to your advice! My only comment is I had to go past 21v and put about 23v into the battery before she'd charge up! Thanks again!

I tried the charger with the cable after 21V indicated without the cable connected and didn't have luck. So I went to 23-24V without the cable thinking a car battery alternator supplies 14.3V as it charges a 12V battery. So going higher seemed to bring the battery closer to 21V and it worked. Phew! TDR's best advice is "short cycles" of charging without the cable is all it takes. Looking to try this on my P4 dead battery. Thanks TDR for your video. You have saved many enthusiasts money! I bet you kept DJI from thousands of dollars of revenue by showing all of us how to revive our supposed dead batteries. THANKS!

    0 volt TB47 back operational.
Man I wish I would've seen this yesterday I had a battery NIB that I never opened from November 2018. well when I made an adapter to fit the factory battery connector and measured 0.93vdc-yeah 0. the charger was doing nothing and flashed like yours for about 10 seconds and go out.
Well I removed the cover and logic board cable and just like you placed alligator clips on the 2 leads. Youre correct the factory charger will not charge being so low. I went and being a hobbyist and grabbed my HiTech good LIPO charger and made an adapter to accept the alligator clips.
when I tried to charge it it would read "connection break" because it was at 0vdc. so to circumvent that I had to start and stop the charger repeatedly (15 times) because it you hit the battery with the 26v for 2 seconds until the "connection break" terminated the charge cycle for safety.
after about 15 times the battery not had a steady 3.4 volts which now I was about to change my lipo settings from 6s to 1s. I charged it on 1s for about 3 minutes, stopped it cooled off and repeated watching the capacity being charged in which was about 20mah.
Now I stepped it up to 3s and repeated the process for 2 cycles of 2 min with cool off time.
3s, 4s again the same basically stepped up the voltage to 6s until I had about 3000+mah in the pack and cooled/settled to a steady resting voltage of 22-23vdc. I buttoned everything back up plugged in the logic board and connected the factory charger to complet the charge which it did.
I let it rest and on the app it gave me a battery warning of a bad cell when I looked at the cells in the app with the motors running (no props) idle for a bit I saw cell 4 was a tad lower than the rest were all equal. After draining is down to 15% placed it on the factory charger and the next cycle no warning and all cells were equal in capacity and temp was great.
All this to say it is absolutely possible to resurrect a tb47/tb48 from 0.95vdc to health as longs as the cells were originally healthy.
my battery terminals has a slight greening coating on them but messing with the alligator clips eventually gave me enough to charge.
also to note while I had my brand new 0.95vdc tb47 on the operating table while I was forcing voltage to it my multimeter read 1 about the entire time so I went off of my rc lipo charger reported voltage and timer for reference.
alls well and the pack is perfect.

@@tdrdronesebikesandscooters8377 I'm not sure haven't charged so many lipos because I have so many of them in various RC forms mainly crawlers and stadium trucks I figured I'd give it a shot disconnecting the logic board because I did not want to hit it with too many amps to fry the board. It took some time I figured the best approach for me was to step the voltage from one s up it took about an hour roughly and then from there enough to get the vultures enough around 22 volts to use the factory charger to finish it off.
Like I mentioned before initially yesterday I got a battery warning for a bad cell but after another cycle it equaled out fine no problem since I fully tested with a couple more cycles same battery this weekend for sure but all in all I'm confident it'll be fine.

Cool Idea... A tip for ya Bud, when you do this to a over discharged lipo you should use a super low amperage rated supply 25 -50mah or so. you don't want to do this with high power 1 amp and higher supply because if the batteries are way out of balance it can cause them to puff and get ruined or even catch fire. The lower amperage the better just takes way longer to regenerate the voltage high enough over 3v so your charger will now sense the cells and do a proper charge.

When I was charging those Bird electric scooters I found a few that had the batteries run down so low that they wouldn't accept a charge. The brain the company put on ran them down beyond the normal low shutoff point. What I did was I took a another scooter battery and connected a wire from both terminals to the super dead battery for about a minute which brought up the voltage enough for the charger to recognize the battery and then quickly disconnected everything and then plugged in the charger. Both charged up to 100% capacity and also held the charge. Interesting stuff.

I think many of the problems revolve around the design of the drone and the battery. I've had several intermittent landings off a "fully charged" battery. One resulted in a crash landing right after take off. From my understanding with Li-Ion and LiPo batteries is that they don't work anything like lead acid batteries where the plates become covered when the charge is too low. However, one thing I have noticed with Lithium batteries is how they are charged - in series VS parallel. These battery cells literally need to be charged independently. I'd never ripped open one of these batteries to determine this.
