I will never understand why Bayless is so hatin on Westbrook. I ain't the biggest fan of Thunder or RW but you have to respect this guy. I mean does anyone have such a high motor as this guy? Yes, Durant is best basketball player, but in my opinion, Westbrook is the engine of this team. So what if he isn't distributing the ball well? He is still very young and have tremendous work ethic, so everything will fall in place sooner or later.

Skip is from Oklahoma. He knows everything about OKC. He predicted for 2 years that Westbrook would cause problems. I mean, everybody did. I remember Charles Barkley saying they have to split Durant and Westbrook up. People (Magic, Stephen A.) shut up after he scored 43 against the Heat but if he is the reason for a couple of finals losses next year, he will get blasted again.
the other starting point guard that made the finals is mario chalmers... thats why i said 28/30.. if u watched the games durant often struggled to get open this caused Westbrook to have to take a contested shot at the end of the shot clock and he was criticized a lot when durant shud be more aggressive. I agree though, he needs to take less shots, but he was not the reason the Thunder lost.
The "dynamic" of the game is changing, and Russell Westbrook is simply the catalyst to the new role of the point guard. His type of play is essential to a high energy high scoring team as the Thunder. In my opinion, he is actually BETTER than Durant. The only reason the thunder lose to the heat (only real threat) is because the thunder COLLECTIVELY turn over the ball and the heat capitatilize AND because the Thunder's star player Durant can't do shit with Lebron James defensively or offensively!
Westbrook is a scoring PG. Its different than Nash and Rondo who are pass firs point guards. The Thunder want him to be a scoring PG and thats who he is. It doesn't mean hes not a PG because he doesnt have the same game style as rondo rubio or nash. Hes just differnt and thats what the thunder want him to be
Durant and Westbrooks shots per game are nearly identical. The reason KD is leading the league in scoring, is because he has westbrook, to take pressure off the defense. I agree, Durant should shoot more, but a lot of times its not Westbrooks fault. Often durant struggles to get open, Westbrook waits to give him the ball, but he doesn't want to force it, shot clock is winding down, westbrook is forced to put up a contested low percentage shot.

That is exactly what they want Him to do in Oklahoma City, Plus he is averaging more assists than an supposedly "Pure Pointguard", so when they say that I don't understand where they are coming from. He is obviously a scoring PG, and that is EXACTLY what Scott Brooks wants. Plus KD gets his fair share of the ball, and averages more points than Russell, which he should. Perfect duo in my opinion
