  • A bronze statue from the Titanic - not seen in decades and feared to be lost for good - is among the discoveries made by the company with salvage rights to the wreck site on its first expedition there in many years.

    Those people who got on that capsule have to be the bravest people ever. It takes about 3 hours to arrive to the bottom of the sea??? I would have died before the arrival..

      They didn't go with a capsule. They used underwater robots with cameras to film this

    I just saw what the ones in the submersible would have seen, it’s a shame they couldn’t have just been satisfied with seeing it on TH-cam.

      Titanic is roughly 3,800 meters. The sub collapsed before that. It is pitch black there.

    It would be fair to assume that the Titanic is the ONLY ship that ever sank in history.

      @@brtianic9751simply put, it’s a “maritime grave” so the ethical debate is about the dead and their families, not the ship’s feelings. There has also been an adjacent legal battle for decades over rights to pillage the wreck site .

    Could we spend our millions and millions on improving the lives of humans currently living on the planet, instead of obsessing over historic soap opera bullshit? A boat wrecked. People died. We learned from it. Can we move on? Do we need to be flying planes drones jets floating boats going under with subs etc STILL? What an absolute waste of energy and money.

      @@missybuckingham7756 I’m very aware of that - they are who I am referring to, in addition to governments around the world who, yes they do, still fund various efforts surrounding wrecks like the titanic. But mainly humanity as a whole - why we feel the need to spend extreme resources on trivial pursuits of ego instead of helping living people who need it.
