It just now clicked in my head at 1:20 that guardsmen fucking did a combat roll to get out of the ultra marines way while also avoiding getting curb stomped by a world eater

100% the only thing that doesn't fit *exactly* is the specific subject matter of their songs since they sing about real history. But the vibes are absolutely immaculate.

The scene with the Cataphractii pattern Terminators is one of my favorite. I've always said that if you, as an Imperial citizen, ever see a Terminator it means you're already dead, you just don't know it yet. If it's bad enough that they've sent Terminators there's pretty much no way you're making it through.
If you mean the scene around 3:17 then it is from death of hope by mark louis spark, highly recommend, fantastic fan animation about the shadow crusade

In terms of Halo, Space marines being Spartans, Kriegsmen being suicidal odsts, and guardsmen being Marines
Except there's orbital drop troopers in the Imperium as well. There's no Krieg analog in Halo.
Halo does rip off rather a lot from WH40k.

Elysians are orbital drop shock troopers. 40k has a lot of fantasy races, but IN SPAAAACE!!!. Just like the orks are orcs IN SPAAAACE!!! and the aeldari are elves IN SPAAAACE!!!, the Elysians are French IN SPAAAACE!!!
Kriegsmen are Germans IN SPAAAACE!!!, and the Valhallans are Russians IN SPAAAACE!!!, the Vostroyans are Russians IN SPAAAACE!!!, and so on.
I love Sabaton. Great music and band. I also love 40k. My favorite army is the Adepta Soritas. 6,000 points in Sisters

For all the flaws and crimes and atrocities committed by the imperium, there is something undeniably beautiful and awestricking in the way the people are willing to fight and die for this thing they believe in.

1:18-1:29 is literally so brave and lyric fitting. "Gave their lives so boldly" civilians running from a chaos Marine. A wounded ultramarine with a missing arm saves them. Jumps in. And distracts. Dying in the process but saving a couple of lives. The emperor protects 😢
Nobody seems to point it out but at the end that dreadnought was running, i repeat a dreadnought was running thats absolutely terrifying
I slowed it down just to see the guardsman roll under the marine's swing and keep running.

Man, I want either a horus heresy rts, a for honor type 30k thing, or something like mount and blade warband set in the heresy
I think Horus Heresy RTS would REALLY have to differentiate the different legions. All the animations, units and such would have to be different. Couldn’t just do pallet swaps because that would get really old.
