Cool looking crawfish.... but as I was sitting here watching this I said to myself...self wonder how cool and what kind of movement would this thing have if he put soft plastic claws on it??????🤷♂️🤷♂️
Crazy thought that might work. Especially, if you can find lighter ones that will make the casting easier on a fly rod. Have fun tying and experimenting.
That's an awesome looking bug Shawn! I had a Rebel Crawfish too but liked Arbogast Mud Bug better, a killer on Chinook. Did it take you long to get the lip right for the diving action you wanted? There's a few foam flies out there, they say it takes adjustments to get it right, like Todd's Wiggle Minnow, Larry Tullis's Wiggle Bug ( I have Tullis's Nymphs Tying And Fishing, good info when I stared fly fishing and tying :o) But of all the foam bugs I've seen none look as good as yours, good job on the realism! Thanks Shawn, hope all is well with you and yours, it's gotten a little better up here.
Thanks Joe. I hobbled out to the stream on my broken foot for about an hour yesterday and managed a couple little ones on the dry dropper rig but before that i messed around with this crawfish pattern a little bit and yes you do have to "tune" it a little bit to get it running true in the water. This fly actually started out as a wiggle bug and after some trail and error this is what was produced. I liked the simplicity of the wiggle bug but I also like realism and for a crawfish the wiggle bug didn't offer that to me so I had to play around with it. Thanks for you comments
@@HolsingersFlyShop Oh I agree, like I said, best looking crawfish "bug" I've seen. Those other two I mentioned just wiggle, pretty static looking otherwise. Sorry to hear about your foot, that sucks. It's been tough enough the past few months, hope you heal quick. Thanks for info.
Great looking fly Shawn! Thanks for sharing!
You bet
I watched this, today, and tied up a couple. Thanks, Shawn!
hope they do well for you
Great looking fly. Can’t wait to give it a try.
Have fun! Hope it works for you
Another great video!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Brandon Verba, CHMM thank you very much
Where do you purchase 5mm foam?
Ted Arrington we have some in the shop we will get it listed tomorrow. It can be found in some craft stores. It just takes a little searching
Wal-Mart in the craft section has cool 5 mm craft foam in different colors 8×10 sheets just for a few bucks
