Well, it could be the IC audio chip, really common fail in i7s and i8s, just double check if Siri is working and also if recording a video the audio works
@@gbnchris3162 this is a quite difficult repair as you have to replace the chip from the motherboard... i will recommend you to check the repair with a qualified technician, otherwise the phone could be easily broke.
@@alregaman Siri works fine, recording videos from both back & front cameras works fine and also voice memos too, but when making normal call the other party cannot hear me clearly, they say that they can hear me as I'm speaking from distance & sound also little muffled, what could be the possible reason for this. ?
@@lahiruashan6487 First try to clean the bottom part of the phone with a brush but no liquids, where all the holes are, both sides of the charging connector. If that doesn't work, your mic may have been damage, so you will need to replace the charging port flex cable and it will fix the problem 100% sure. Let me know how it goes. :)

I have the same problem…microphone works on other apps like instagram facebook voice recorder etc but in calls Other person can’t hear me
that is not a same problem. Here is microphone hardware totally broken, in your case it works with some app and not with others. So try reset settings
The earpiece flex carries the mic used in voice recording app while the charging flex controls the mic used for calling...
