"a"를 넣지 않고 말할 수도 있지만, 그렇게 하면 문장이 약간 비 자연스러울 수 있어요. 좀 더 자연스럽게 표현하려면 "Did you have a meal?" 또는 "Did you eat?"라고 물어보면 더 자연스러울 수 있어요.
그리고 "I just had a meal." 대신 "I just ate."라고 말하면 좀 더 간결하고 자연스러울 거예요.
