It’s been brought to my attention that you may not be able to use the carriage bolts on 163 tunnels. I have done this mod without the carriage bolts, just using the two rivets and bumper bolts to tie it back together. I didn’t have any issues.. but it’s up to you! Thanks again for watching!
i drilled out the rivets on my snow flap and have ran without it all year, easiest way to recreate the cut tunnel, and as long as you have a rivet gun and rivets it gos back on in a couple minutes no problem
I like it! Still gotta get that bumper out of the way though! I would remove mine but it helps keep the sled cool especially when I’m hauling a ton of gear
thank you so much for this video, its gonna help my riding experience alot. looks like i got something to mess with whilst waiting for more snow here in norway. and loved the 509 video keep it up dude!
If you want more you could notch the flap bracket and flap around the cooler only downside it would not have as much protection against being bent on the upside you would keep all the cooling
While you are at it, why not make your snowflap removable by using bolts with handle knobs and nylon locking nuts and washers? Id post a picture if I could.
I don’t mind the snow flap to much! Here in the cascades we get lots of concrete snow and I struggle with cooling! Love the idea tho! Thanks for watching!
Nice Rosco! Totally makes sense to me. How strong are those RMK tunnel to begin with? Landed few times back in my tra k hole bumper first and skis straight up. That would not be good with the side tunnel trimmed no? Cheers man.
When you say you feel the tail end dragging. I would think leaving the flap defeats the purpose. Or does moving the bumper allow the flap to flex out of the way even more?
because the flap moves and flexes you don't feel it as much. no flap is the best but I need it for cooling when I haul all my camera gear. and when snow is firm.
I think its worth the mod. it depends on the rider and the way you ride. sometimes I feel changes other riders dont. I wouldn't do it if I didnt feel it was worth the work!
@@Rossxr I have a few SLP mods to my RMK PRO, I have yet to cut the tunnel this method makes the process a lot eaiser seeing as I do not have the welding set up for aluminum. Do you still ride in the BV area? I appreciate your videos and explanations of the mods you make to your sleds and what they do to improve ride ability.
I unfortunately pushed you past your perfect 509 likes to 510.. :-( Great video, I had already came up with tipping the bumper up on my own, I will be making the cuts for sure now.

I know I'm pretty off topic but do anyone know of a good site to watch new series online?
@Diego Trace I dunno try flixportal. Just google after it:P -alfonso
@Alfonso Maurice Thanks, I signed up and it seems like a nice service =) I really appreciate it !
"3 inches is better than nothin"🤣🤣🤣. I just about spit out my dinner when you said that.
That’s what she said
That’s flipping hilarious 😆 😂🤣😂😅🥲👍 Love the videos Bro!
haha your welcome! 😂😂
big thanks!!
@@Rossxr Hey Rosco, can this be done to a 2017 Pro-RMK??
I did a pdr low profile taillight looks slick won't rip it off with a tree and its bright as hell
I like that move! I should maybe do that!
Free mods are the best mods! I wish there were more videos like this
that's what I'm Saying! appreciate you watching!
Nice video Rosco! Let’s see a video on the budget seat🤘
I need another seat to cut..

@@Rossxr put hood clips through the holes so you can put it on and take it off whenever.
Looks good Ross! Been dreaming of doing something like this. Can you post some more pictures of it somewhere so we can replicate it?
thanks! I mean I might be able to 😅 was hoping the video would do a good job of that!
Big thanks for watching!

heck yeah! pretty quick and easy! and will help a little bit! appreciate the comment!

I want to keep It protected back there. it takes a beating when you do Hop overs, re-entrys and bowties!
@@Rossxr ah yeah, what is the back flip stunt called that involves landing pointed back down the hill
Thanks for the video. In your opinion Do you think cutting the sides weakens the tunnel? I'm going to plate mine anyway just curious what you think.
How about a video on cutting down the bars? How to deal with the hand warmers? Thanks
Great vid!!
I actually dont cut the bars on this sled. I just run the stock 5" bars these days!

just did a track extension on a 2017 indy. 121 to 136 with no tunnel extension. end result a short tunnel indy 136
Rossiiiii for the win! Wish you were still doing lessons. Oh well, keep up the vids man!
Big thanks my friend! Now lessons just come in video form!
Probably get more out of just taking off the snowflap, once off the trail, and put back on, on the way out.
great video tutorial!!!!
Thanks chance 🤘🏻
Another great vid!
Thanks Sam! Really appreciate it!
@Rosco What are the chances that polaris starts using shorter tunnels for the 2022's like ski doo has done?
not sure, hopefully they are headed that way. everyone is doing it!
the slash tunnel
Nice, good video man!
Thanks Gavin! appreciate you!
so, this... ona cat would be crazy, as coolers are in front, and not rear. ;)
Just take a hacksaw to the whole thing lol! 😂🤣

@@Rossxr off top question. What hand grips are you using?
@@Rossxr oh one more off topic question. Finger throttle with a guard or thumb throttle.
Seat mod! Cmon dogg
Were you able to remount the tailight by chance?
You can. I just remove mine completely
Another video he’ll yeah I’m in🤟🏼
thanks my dude! appreciate it!
Finally someone went over this 👌🏼
Quick and easy 🤘🏻
@@Rossxr can we get a side picture and see what it looks like compared to stock?
Why even put the flap back on?
I struggle with cooling here in the cascades sometimes things get pretty firm so I like it to help keep the sled cool
How much manoverability do you gain from this reduction in tunnel length?
I think its worth the mod. it depends on the rider and the way you ride. sometimes I feel changes other riders dont. I wouldn't do it if I didnt feel it was worth the work!

Do you know if this would work on a 2013 pro rmk?
it should!
I just flipped my sled over onto my table saw.
Haha very nice 🤘🏻
👍🏽 work smart, not hard.
🤙 👆 love it man. Not everyone has $50-$60K for a sled build. 💳💰💵💸
Exactly. it makes a difference and its free and pretty easy!
Rosco Jan 25, 2021 " 3' inches is better than nothin."
haha!! straight facts.

Meanwhile us cat guys could hack half the tunnel off 😁🤙🏻
yeah just take a hacksaw to it. dont even put the bumper back on!
Sup Ross I’m early
thanks for watching Kyle! I really appreciate it!
