Ya’ll made those peach pies just like my grandma did back in the day. Only she used her peaches which she peeled and sliced then spread on pillow cases and laid on the grass, to be dried by our hot Alabama sunshine. Granddaddy had special screen wire he put over the peaches to keep out the birds, bees and wasps. My job as a child was to patrol and fan away critters like that. Grandma also dried her apples and pears the same way in the fall, when she wasn’t cooking cobblers with them or canning them. We young ‘uns went blackberry picking about the 4th of July amid the chiggers and snakes, and boy, were Grandma’s blackberry cobblers delicious! Of course we didn’t have ice cream often but it was so good without that. Ya’ll don’t know what you missed! You’d never leave Grandma’s table hungry. I enjoy your programs so much, you demonstrate everything so well, and your smiles and laughter makes me feel good about humanity. Keep it up as long as you live, you’re just what the world needs now! The BEST of the goodness of Americans! 🇺🇸 l’m proud of you and your program. Bless your hearts, darlins’!
    Aunt Liz in ‘Bama.

I made these peach pies last night and they were deeeelish!!! The only thing I changed was adding LOTS of cinnamon to the peach filling. And when they came out of the fryer, tossed them on a paper towel with a cinnamon/sugar mix to give them a Popeye's apple pie like crust. So simple. Fries up so light and crispy.

try it with dried peaches....so much better in the opinion of my 70 year old taste buds..... i've eaten all kinds....Jamar farm in north Georgia has a couple varieties including dried peaches good place for a taste test.....making them myself they have the advantage of no added sugar due to the concentration of the natural sugars of the dried peaches.....so who asked me ....

I made some with apple filling and the rest with spaghetti sauce mozzarella and pepperoni, my 10 yr old rolled out the dough super easy to work with this dough, I do use King Arthur flour and always I mean always get the best results when I do anything with flour, the flour makes the difference and fried them in cast iron, they don't even taste fried!!! I'm going bananas how simple yet delicious these are! Savory or sweet. Excellent recipe I will use the rest of my lifetime!!! Big thank you for sharing 🤗

You might try 1, just to see, this is different than a regular pie dough, it might get dry, or tough.

Steve Trojak ...GREAT question, shame neither one of them ever replied to you. I live in a 2 person household so it would be great if I could freeze the uncooked pies and fry them as needed. I guess I’ll try freezing 2 of them to see how it works out....if it doesn’t, my loss will be minimal.

@@MrScottie68 pretty sure you can freeze them just don't cook them. So make them then place them on a cookie sheet with wax paper and place in the freezer for about an hour then put them in a freezer Ziploc bag. When you want to make them take them out the night before and let them defrost in the fridge. Thats how I plan to make them
