I’m 73 years young, 74 in November, solo female travelling with my dog…. I’m fit and strong, living my best life travelling in my Motorhome, I meet so many older folks that are travelling , are happy and healthy. I think people travelling on the road, relax more, walk more and have healthier thought patterns that keeps them young…. Just my opinion 👏👏
HEAR HEAR!! I’m an RN, and meet very inspiring active ‘old’ people. I also think that for those that think that when they get old, that they have to become fragile, weak, immobile etc is a self fulfilling prophecy..so that’s exactly what they do become. I’m 60 years young, and plan to get a van and travel…for a long long time. Love your Q and A’s.
I love you outlook on life. I'm disabled through injuries. Yes, I live in a van as well. I agree 100% that this lifestyle makes get out and do stuff. I love travelling around Australia and will keep going until I literally physically can't.
I’m working on staying fitter and healthier as I age. Years of being too sedentary has undone a lot of my past strength and fitness, and I want that back to take me into my later life.
I like your channel and you why because you are happy and that makes it fun to watch it's like you've found the meaning of true happiness and it's refreshing and wonderful so happy for you❤❤❤❤
1:02-1:30 - sums up my view perfectly. Well said, well put. I think people have such a crazy idea of aging that it means you can't do all you did when you were younger. I know of people in their 50s who don't look after themselves at all (lots of animal produce, junk food, alcohol, smoking, overweight, no exercise) who appear old to me and could pass for 70s based on their lifestyle, looks and attitude to age. I see others who are super healthy (vegan, no junk, no alcohol, no smoking, exercise, good mindset) who are late 70s/early 80s and seems years younger and still run businesses and do lots of physical activity etc. I think it's 80% lifestyle, 20% genetics from what I've heard from academics who've studied this topic. Aging and getting old are two different things. Aging is inevitable but doesn't mean we have to "get old". The rate at which we age is largely down to us.
Another great video Brenna and thanks for adding that link. As a traveler I’m meeting people of all ages and the biggest compliment I get is that I have inspired them. I’m in my mid 60’s and many people I interact with are 40 years younger but we have so much in common. I will try to share this link as we can all learn & be inspired
Thank you, Brenna, for sharing. My plan, when I cannot drive anymore, is to join long cruises. I'll have my room with my special things with me, seeing new places, meeting new people, with all the food I could want - someone else to do the cooking and cleaning. That's my plan, God willing!
Hi Brenna. Thanks for making this video. I'm 70 in a few weeks, and I'm about to become a solo, full-time nomad in a campervan. I look forward to many aspects of it, but sometimes fear comes up, with the thought of not having any unit or house to call home. I felt encouraged by your video, and I'll watch some others of yours, and subscribe.
I just watched that video of the 96 yr old woman the other day! I thought the same thing - amazing and still going. I can't even do 2 push-ups! Thanks for another great video.
Love your way of thinking! And I hope God blesses you with much health and happiness through all your years. Also, thank you for sharing the video or the elderly woman. It is always great to see people living a wonderful life as they move into big numbers!

Hey Brenna I appreciate your perspective and the video. As a type one diabetic since birth I always thought I would naturally become less mobile. But I work hard everyday going on walks and hikes with my parents so yeah thanks for the video 👍
Unfortunately, things creep up on you. BUT !! Attitude has a lot to do with it, if things happen, we don't throw in the towel we just do it differently & enjoy life.
Agree with you Brenna - some folk do seem to take on an 'old' persona. I am 71 and not doing that! I still do a little gardening work for people and have 85 yr old clients who work with me. I am selling my house to buy a smaller one and then fit out a van for some trips. Never too late! Happy times ! 😀
For now my van is my happy place has long has I can drive., then I will still sleep and enjoy it parked somewhere! At 65 I feel young and free . Went camping in Portugal with my gear in a small rolling suitcase travelling by bus. Creative and curious whatever life gives.
Hi Brenna, I have always believed that aging is a state of mind. I don't think of myself as getting old, Funny thing is others do. I love to be active and still do things that I have always done since my early twenties. Thank you for this honest opinion. Keep going and having fun after all that is what life is all about.
Breanna, you are so right. I’m 70 and hubby is 81. My idea of “old” is 90, but I might change that as I head that way. At 70 & 81 we believe aging (getting older) is in part a mindset, how you view it. Yes, there are physical changes and things that arrive, but even with that… me personally… I’m determined not to let these things steal away from my life. Cheers from Sue in Orangeville, Ontario, Canada. I have a channel, CounselorSue - The Variety Show.
You are so right about ageing. I have been following the health information from Barbara Oneill. She is an Australian naturopath and she says muscles know no age. Barbara still runs at age 71. We ain’t gettin’ old Brenna 🤣. Totally agree we need to focus on health as strong women…. I do a lot of ‘van yoga’ in my Hiace just to get stuff done. I also now walk heaps due to awesome camping spots which I never did in an unwheeled home. 😘🤗

Me? I've turned 70 this year. I have no children. I was happily married for over 40 years. He passed away 6 years ago. Last year I had cancer. I have survived. Then I looked at what my future might be... living (just marking the time) for the rest of my life. I was comfortable owned my home, car, furniture, no debts and was able to save for holidays. During cancer treatment, the very thought of going home to just wait to die, was something that I was NOT going to do. My husband and I had always wanted to travel. He never made it, and I nearly haven't ... OLD is a state of mind. I will not wait to travel around Australia. And see all those beautiful things and have some challenges! I'm reasonably fit, and I'm actively working to get fitter. Those stairs in to the RV will not stop me (ROFL)...
Hi Brenna you love art and for out doors have you thought to paint your walls and sealing of your van what you see in the outdoors. From a fellow van lover.😎
Great video Brenna. When people tell me I can't do something, it makes me more determined to prove them wrong. This question is totally un - related but if you are still using your folding toilet, what bags do you use. I'm using toilet bags purchased from a popular camping store but even when I line the toilet with 3 bags, they leak. I know some of the moisture is condensation but that is not always the case.
Agree age is just a number. We have met several “older people” in their 80s and 90’s who would easily outdo many people lots younger in age. The saying “use it or lose it” comes to mind. Living a life on the road with less stress and more movement obviously has a big impact on your health. We can all do with less stress. In saying that not all people who have poor health are not trying to be fit and healthy. Some illnesses are genetic and can run in families, some get some deliberating disease that is out of their control, where age has nothing to do with it. So “Poor lifestyle” is not necessary the reason people can seem old. We should all strive to eat more healthy and move more, and yes that is definitely going to help people in older age. You see some people, who drink, smoke, couch potatoes and don’t have a thing wrong with them. Others can do the right things health wise and are struck down with some sickness. I agree there is a sediment in our society that you can’t do this or that or are going to get sick when you age. I know we have been judged and underestimated because the hair is grey. I always think it’s awesome when I see “older” people still living their life with gusto. We had chosen a full time life on the road with no end date. We were fit and healthy didn’t smoke or drink yet our time came to an end 7 months in because my husband was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer with a very shorten life span. He also had a stoke during the brain biopsy. His health and movement is deteriorating, he needs a walker to move about now and doesn’t have the full use of his right hand. His mental capacity has dropped from the highly intelligent and well spoken man he was. Some may judge he is old (62) and that he didn’t look after his health. When I see people now struggling with some health or fitness aspect, I don’t judge as you never know what has happened or led to them being less mobile, may not due to “poor lifestyle”. We don’t always get to choose our lot in life but we can try and make the most of what we have been given.
I can’t believe it. You said you were 59 years old. I don’t know if you’ve ever mentioned your age before, if you have I missed it. Honestly, I thought you might be in your forties, tops. I am surprised. ❤️

I'm 72 and still splitting firewood with an axe. The very best lifestyle change you can do is to ditch ALL the carbs and sugar and seed oils and fruit and vegetables.... I've been low carb for 18 months and now carnivore for 12, and honestly, I'm like a new man... Absolutely everything that was wrong with my ageing body is now FIXED. I recieve a lot of enjoyment from your videos - Thanks so much -- but I disagree with you - lifestyle many have nothing to do with one's physical and mental wellbeing in old age - what about ones hereditary genes . My husband was a strong healthy male but arthritis from his ancestors has crippled him. The wonderful healthy life style was absolutly useless to him. PLEASE look deeper into what you are talking about. Hope to see more of your videos - Keep Safe😇🥰
Hi , I’m sorry to hear that your husband is crippled with arthritis. It is true that there are some genetic diseases you have little control over but the majority of ailments older people experience are a result of lifestyle choices.
yes but your situation does occur but she is referring to the masses and through positive thinking/ balanced diet and moderate exercise it can lead to a long and fulfilling life.
I had root canal and crown . Girl a t work said i should have it out. I am sixty we are not bold we are much luckier th a n are grsndparents a nd parents we have super. I am not a mytrtr iwe have options.
Sorry love ❤️, but regatdless of yiur thoughts on ageing , sixty is when your body begins to really breakdown. I know their are exceptions to the rule, but a comparosion is sheep. Most sheep born in any given year, basically all live the same amount of years. As yiu age (62 aussie male here) , small injuries like tweaking muscles etc , can manifest into major problems quickly. Cold , not eating correctly , all these things , which one shrugs off easily , when young , hit home as you age. Goodluck .
@BrennaLivingJoyfully hello Brenna, here's my take on it . If you are or were athletic / out doorish, or above the norm in general fitness , health, mind fullness, this type of lifestyle is relatively easy. Same goes for homesteading , off grid life, etc , the elderly around here do it easily , 70s ,80s & a couple of 90 yo, because they've done it all their lives. Goodluck
We are old in ours 50s and beyond - though most of us are in denial about it until we see the photos of ourselves or look back on what we could do 20 years ago But I agree - we may be old but we can be tough and resilient and not disappear !! 🫠

I had root canal and crown . Girl a t work said i should have it out. I am sixty we are not bold we are much luckier th a n are grsndparents a nd parents we have super. I am not a mytrtr iwe have options.
But odds are we will get some medical reason for them to take our licenses off us.
You can stack the odds in your favour 😊
Sorry love ❤️, but regatdless of yiur thoughts on ageing , sixty is when your body begins to really breakdown. I know their are exceptions to the rule, but a comparosion is sheep. Most sheep born in any given year, basically all live the same amount of years. As yiu age (62 aussie male here) , small injuries like tweaking muscles etc , can manifest into major problems quickly. Cold , not eating correctly , all these things , which one shrugs off easily , when young , hit home as you age. Goodluck .
Maybe
@BrennaLivingJoyfully hello Brenna, here's my take on it . If you are or were athletic / out doorish, or above the norm in general fitness , health, mind fullness, this type of lifestyle is relatively easy. Same goes for homesteading , off grid life, etc , the elderly around here do it easily , 70s ,80s & a couple of 90 yo, because they've done it all their lives. Goodluck
If you sit on your bum and do nothing of course you will sieze up
We are old in ours 50s and beyond - though most of us are in denial about it until we see the photos of ourselves or look back on what we could do 20 years ago
But I agree - we may be old but we can be tough and resilient and not disappear !! 🫠
