I’ve done a similar amount of work to my spare tire carrier for my CJ 7. Have you ever considered anything relating to “theft deterrent” the bolts that hold the carrier on? I mean 5 minutes in the Walmart parking lot and that thing could grow legs with someone using a stolen impact gun. Any thoughts on that?
Yeah I've thought about that and haven't really done anything with it. My Jeep is not my daily driver so that helps. I'll have to think about it, I would hate to walk out and find my spare tire and carrier gone! JD
@@JDOffline everyone is worried about locking their tire to the carrier. Well, that is 3 nuts! The entire carrier is only 2 bolts! I’ve thought about going oversized on the bolts on the carrier and use the same 1/2 thread as the wheel studs. Then, you could just get a couple extra wheel stud lock nuts for it?
