    Blake here's a suggestion. You know I've been flying birds for decades. Here's something that I did when I started for distance with my birds. I got a pair of ordinary homing pigeons. I first let them settle into the coop. Id suggest getting young one's. Older one's would usually fly back to their old coop as soon as you let them out. But once you have them trained around your own coop they are usually fine. If they lay eggs or have babies even better. But homing pigeons it's in there DNA to come back. Much more than the birds your trying to train. But they will pick up on what the homing pigeons are doing pretty quickly. I have birds that I release 50 miles from my coop with my homing pigeons and haven't lost any in a few years now. Don't be surprised if some get back after being banged up by hawks it happens from time to time. You will be surprised just how strong some birds are. But like I said it's only a suggestion but it works. Even though the biggest amount of time will be the young homing pigeons just getting use to your coop.

    Happy you are introducing many to racing pigeons. Florida has many many super fanciers. I will be moving down end of summer. Racing pigeons is what I do.

    They need to find the door open early in the morning so they can go for a tour you should do a trip every other day or three days and add six miles to the trajectory or maybe more try transferring them in a big carriage so they don't fight and pick each others eyes

    We use to do this with doves 🕊 for weddings and funerals. We would drive 2 hours away and they would all come back xD. Watch for hawks

    Get some Indian pigeon breeds , In India we have some next level pigeons, they fly around 9-10 hours , and sometimes hawk hunts them mid air, but it's okay we face losses in every hobby so we never stop and i hope you don't stop either Blake, love from India brother ❣️

    My grandfather had racing pigeons for as long is can remember. It's nice to see how they do it. It helps when they are a reeding couple and you train just 1 at a time. Good to see you take it slow. ut 2 or 3 miles is nit a challange for the birds. The can find there way home from anywhere when they are uses to the surrounding and there shack

    Hi Blake, I would actually take the lot down the road they should circle that house until those join and they should all head home together. Also before you take any road training you should actually check there 10 main flights to make sure they have them all or else they will get tired and will land as you saw. Last thing once they are all back put them all in the crate and just drive them out the front of yours to the road and release them literally out the front do that about six times even if you have to do it all in one day and keep them hungry just give them a high carb feed the previous day

  • @gergoilles8274
    @gergoilles8274 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey hey! Becarefull cause they are not young birds! They havent got the big muscle for a long fly back home! You should work with their chicks if they come out from the nest.

    Blake about 5 miles is good for tiples there not Homer's. Homer's most can do 500 to 600 miles when properly train. Anything more then 10 you will lose some.
