- Minecraft survival guide episode 36 is all about minecraft 1.21 and the upcoming mob vote mobs! in this episode we build the armadillo, the penguin, and the crab while talking all sorts of abstract build tricks and a good method to build better!

Hey Mobbles, a building tip for you: since these mobs are actually real life living things, you can just get a picture from the internet and then put it through a 64-bit image filter to get the exact pallet you’d need!! Hope this helps for the future seasons (because yes you absolutely need to continue this tradition, I agree).
My daughter and I agree, the armadillo is super cute, but it needs a tail!!!!
Need a mob that flys & will fight the phantoms after you tame it...
We need an eagle hawk or vulture that could fight phantoms
or just make Parrots do that, they are the only pets that do nothing except dancing
Great episode! I like the crab the best. Reaching farther would definitely help in building. The other options are ok and all are cute but the crab is number 1 for me. Keep up the great work

I also really like all 3 of the mobs this year, but I think I prefer the penguin. For one: it wont be stupid rare, because you find it on the stony shores. making boating faster is a really solid ability, that is useful both in early game (pre- elytra) and super-end game (hyperspeed iceboat highways).
And finally: penguins are my third most favourite animal (behind tortoises and owls), so for lack of an option to have owls in the game: Yes to Penguins!

Love the crab, statue and mob vote both. I like both other mobs, but the crab has fantastic vibes, another S tier looking mob, just like the frog. And that's completely without looking at the Claw itself

Speaking of the Armadillo, it doesn't have a tail but it is adorable, my favorite. Love where the penguin is, maybe a bit too much oak planks for his brows (or whatever they are called).
Speaking of, I feel like the crab would look better with lapis block instead of Warped planks.

I love how people are going to vote for the item they think they’re gonna get and not the mob itself. I bet whatever you think you’re going to get from the claw and wolf armor isn’t going to happen and it’s going to barely make a difference. This is why I will be voting for the best mob and that’s obviously the penguin 🐧

My favorite building is the moose! I was rolling in the floor when he made that comment. I was thinking the same thing. The armadillo looked pretty awesome when it was finished and I saw it from a distance.

I like the Crab statue the best! But I'm thinking that I want the penguin to win. The useful thing each mob has, I don't think I care about, but there's more stoney shores around than the Mangrove Swamp/Savanna. It'd be cool just to see more/different life around!
@dsb227 I agree. I also think the penguin should win, not only for the reasons u stated, but also because if the penguin wins the vote, it’ll be the first mob that would spawn in the stoney shores, and I think that would be really cool.

I love the armadillo build it looks great i really hope it wins the mob vote dog armor would be amazing
LMAO. I'm good. Fully recovered. Long story short, I went to see her and had the time of my life! Honestly no regrets. Unfortunate I caught a cold and it triggered my asthma to the point I had an asthma attack. Went to ER, got treated, and sent home. Condition did not improve. Went to another ER, and they admitted me to the ICU.
So next time I just have to make sure I have my vaccines and I wear a mask.
I think you should have used bamboo wood instead of birch for the pangin. It would make more sense because it was yellow in the mob video
I'm voting armadillo. The savannah needs more unique mobs to the biome and this might spark off the entire biome update. I also would like a way to make wolf armor. My pups deserve some protection from mobs!

Was thinking could make the biggest ranch out past the cookie for sheep, cows, pigs, chickens, and lamas with associated farms. A barn for each farm with a massive fenced pasture with lots of each but keep it under lag amount.

I'm voting for the penguin cause I like things that fill the environment and stony shores could do with something like that. While the others are cute and has uses, being useful isn't the most important thing for me

I'm team Armadillo. Wolves need a buff to add some relevance back to their existence. Additionally, the mob itself seems pretty cool and adds some energy to the Savanna. I could easily tip to the crab, but I feel the longer reach won't add too much to my game play. Plus, the nearest Mangrove Swamp is 1000s of blocks from my base, and the scarcity of the biome itself would relegate the crab claw to later game. Penguins would be a great mob to add to the game, but the enhancements it provides are very niche

I'm definitely team crab. While dog armor is nice, lets be honest, nobody is going to take their dog into battle, and the penguin making boats faster just is not as good as the others.

I like the crab. Wolves are lame. I haven’t had a wolf since probably… 1.13. I have no need for wolf armor. And I’m afraid that if we get penguins, the boat on ice mechanic will get patched. That is scary

There was a tragic miscommunication following the announcement of the crab. Everyone heard wolf armor, but the armadillo is, in fact, a wool farmer.

Mojang is pretty dumb for this mob vote bc all three mobs are real animals that could be added to different biomes to make it way more believable of a populated ecosystem. the mob vote should be for completely new and original ideas like the allay or the phantom. I saw a comment that said adding all 3 would be too much clutter for the game but think about the tropical fish, there`s a few different designs with random color combinations for them that tbh doesn`t make each one unique in their own way. the fact that each contender has its own utility in the game means they`re ideas that could all be added together and make it easier to travel by boat, toughen our dogs, and place blocks farther. All players would benefit from all that rather than adding stuff we have to grind a long time for. Not to mention armadillos (originally from South America) live in North America, so the fact that the mob vote trailer shows them in the savannah means they don`t give af about trying to add a new biome for them or revamp the forests.
If crab ends up winning I am BEGGING Mojang to add a red variant that spawns on the beach

Fave statue? Hmmm that's tough they all slap 🤔 imma say crab because i vibe with the palette way too much ; also i almost feel like its sacrilege for me as a marylander to not say crab if im udecided hehe (not using that logic for vote tho just aesthetics ; also i'm veg but still)
Now as for mob vote (not here to argue btw) I agree they're all pretty evenly matched n cuteness n whatnot & I'd say for me tho I'm still undecided too but --
Crab: most potential easily (buuuuuut aka daydreaming since nothing other than building came out of their mouths/articles as far as what "reach" is capable of so who knows if you'll be able to hold tools or boats or anything else other than blocks that everyone seems to be arguing about, like isn't the claw itself just a tool item? What'll the tool being capable of doing? Why would one tool be capable of holding another tool like transport{boat/minecart} or axe or pick or etc? Do any of us know yet? nope)
Armadillo: most vibe changing , even if you think dog armour is useless / least useful it's default biome (savannah) desperately needs ambience that makes more sense (i never thought the sheep or pigs made as much sense there) + is usually much more expansive than the shores typically are &&& the microscopic chance other warm biomes like the barren wasteland that is the Mesa being included in that makes me happy since in at least 1 of the 3 sources they gave they said warm biomeS plural (I'm not holding my breath tho lmfao it's just the Mesa is my favourite / the most underrated biome since it has NOTHING {villages animals ambience} but scenery/blocks/mines n I NEED an update there), also wouldn't be rare like crab (crab by default would be rarest of the bunch seeing as it's stuck in mangrove vs savannah + shores)
Penguin: most useful (based solely on trailers/articles), not that everyone spends their playthroughs travelling around a lot but because swamps are way more rare than stony shores if you'd have to travel possibly exhaustively to find claws just to be able to use em well you'd get there much faster with your penguin pal eh? So just a 🤏🏻smiiiiiidge🤏🏻 more useful seeing as it'd be most accessible. It's also great early &&& late game (there will surely be a way to add to ice roads if people have figured out dolphin roads so i feel like that isn't daydreaming lol &&& how often have y'all found/used/befriended frogs in the time frame where a building tool would be most useful aka start/midpoint of your world?? that's what i thought elohel)

No, we don’t. Acacia is an F- tier wood type, and hands down the absolute worst, and most disgusting looking wood types!
Although, I will agree, acacia wood can enhance a build, and look good, though, only in specific scenarios.
