The paddles helped most on steep/loose hill climbs. Besides that, the low-psi Duros in size 22x11-8 did really well for everything else. The paddles are a two-edged sword because when you're going slow they are really rough. But when you're climbing the softest/steepest hills the paddles are necessary. If you're just going to play in the smaller dunes, the balloon type low psi tires did really well.
+MarkG yes, the 400ex does have the power when jetted correctly. you see it bogging down in the video in second gear trying to climb hills, but after this ride he had it rejetted for our elevation and now it tractors up ALL of the hills you see in this video in second gear with no problem. his vented air box and exhaust in sync with the jetting really brought out the low end torque.
nevertoooldtohavefun i mines set up for racing i have my rpms set on high i have 3 grand in my motor if i even attemped a dunes id blow my motor up from high rpms

Have a great time! The dunes are my favorite place to ride.
Good video. Does the 400ex have enough power for the dunes? I noticed you turned around halfway up some of the hills.
