Being non turbo and direct injection, is where most of the extra sound comes from. In my experience. . Other machines have indirect injection or IDI and are quiter becuse of that fuel system, but have a much bigger reliance on glow plugs and/or intake heaters ect, to get going. Even when temps are not really that cold.
Never tried to do any tillage with it. If it had a small 3 or 4 bottom plow it would handle it and probably an 8’ disc, but I’m not sure how much more it could go.
Great video. I have an '83 4610. Just bought it last year. Have you ever had any trouble with running it for a couple of hours, say bush hogging, and after you cut it off, it will not restart for some period of time until it cools off? It will crank fine but want fire. Thought it was getting hot and affecting the fuel system but I can't diagnose yet.
It’s called a top link retainer plate. There’s a few different types. You can see the various part numbers on Messicks. www.messicks.com/nh/138561 www.lindstromequipment.com/other/pid1715760/top-link-retainer-plate/

I agree, love my 1982 ford 4610, 4430 hours, it is loud with that stubby stack compared to my 4600, with a different muffler,
Do you know of a better stack that can go on it?

The 7600 ain’t much of a sipper? I’d love to have one.

I’ve never had that problem but a common cause of that issue is a worn head and rotor in the injection pump. Yours is a diesel, right?
Yes sir. Thanks for the input.
I had wondered about the injector pump.
We have a 4610
My 4610 has the shifters on the column. Any idea what year yours is? I think mines an 89
Mine is an 84.
My 4610 also has the shifters on the column. I was beginning to believe I had the only one lol
I’m looking at a ford tractor buddy says it’s a 1988 ford 4620 he wants $7000 for her but I can’t find anything on that model online
There’s no such thing as a 4620. It went 4000->4600->4610->4630
