Seems like a slant on the technique where u start the scale off one of three fingers in certain fret board positions. That will give u different patterns in new locations on the fret board.
Basically works in a similar way. Good video thanks.

It's a very similar concept, yes.
For me this is all about having a way of visualising everything on the neck that works for you as an individual.
There's an irony in sharing my on way on a mass market platform of course but ultimately the shapes don't change. It's all about how we see them.
