- In this video we continue working on the Bargain Renault Clio from Copart salvage auction Sandwich.
Working at our fully equipped workshop in Kent we carry out tasks including Panel beating, Body work, Mig Welding, Sheet metal Spot Welding, Fabrication, Chassis Repairs, Sand Blasting, Engine and Mechanical repairs, Reconditioning, Restoration and Structural repairs on the Celette Jig Dozer frame machine.

We do receive quite a few questions regarding tools and equipment that we use for various jobs. Unfortunately there is too many to list but some of the brands we use include Snap-on, Blue-point, Makita, Sealey, Clark, Esab and Sykes-Pickavant.

You obviously do work together well and I am so impressed with the standards you impose to get the best possible finish. I am in my seventies but in the past, as a hobby, my own standards were high when I turned over a car. Great stuff

Hi Rob,it's looking good with the primer on the bumper and bootlid,turned out nice,it will be totally different when sprayed and be very tidy,.
You two really are perfectionists, any body who buys a car from you know their getting a perfectly safe car, can't say the same for others😞.really loving these quick turnarounds. whatever you charge for these cars is not enough! Great stuff boys👍
Sorry about my comment regarding the mirrors in the previous video, thanks for correcting me and at least it wasn't just me. You've obviously been a mechanic for a few years Rob and can now add the ability to prime something to what you can do, always good to learn something new, however big or small, looks good.

Very nice work as always. That's going to make a cracking car for someone, and it's going to be a whole lot nicer than a lot of 10/11 year-old Clios out there. I certainly wouldn't need to think twice about buying it, if it was what I needed...

Said it before but would have no problem buying a car of Rob, no bodging or cutting corners and honest. Puts others to shame, he proves you can do a good job and make a few quid without ripping people off.

You did well priming it mate you can do most of the priming nowsaves money and time if u have a spray gun why not get some use out of it that's what it's for

bumpers and plastic trim has a material code which tells what base polymer it is so you can select the correct way to glue and stich together. For example PU bumpers do not react to heat and cant be heat stiched as are the type on the new electric London taxis

Your priming skills look good m8 It’s the same old thing the more you do it the better you get,get big Chris to show you what to do mate all these old cars i’ve had some paint work in their life keep up the videos good entertainment and learning a bit👍🍺😁🥩
There’s more skill to good prep than the actual painting. A nice easy colour like white would be a good in house result. Don’t sell yourself short. Practice makes perfect anyway.

I don’t understand why insurance companies don’t do this! Save a fortune and our premiums would be low ( maybe) someone has lost their pride and joy. Due to someone or their error...... thanks to you guys these cars get a new lease of life.

Rob, Chris. Full marks for not turning out anything unless it comes up to the high standard you both obviously insist on, stripping down the front bumper being a prime example.
A lot of work .An unidentified person backed into my car and I had a major dent The original quote was far too high considering the value of my car (it is a 1998 model)but I just had the dent punched out and primer put on for quite low price.I finished it with a rattle can and was surprised how easy it was to get a superb finish And I never knew before that the original colour number is available on the car and you can get it mixed.
I used to spray, Scotchgard on furniture it’s all in the wrist action
You have probably thought of this but given the insurance approved bumpers on the Fiat 500 were as cheap as chips and came as a pleasant surprise might the same supplier know if the same company make Clio bumpers? All the best.

Lovely video as ever guys. Watching Rob prep the front bumper raises a question for me: my front bumper has loads of baked-on bugs on it that have been there for a long time - what's the best way to remove them? I've tried a commercial bug remover, but it didn't even touch them.

Cracking car when painted
Always worry when I see a different manufacturer sticker in a car. E.g. Screams I bought a Clio and it kept breaking down so I chopped it in for a Fiesta...

Less is more rob, you can always put more paint on but it’s so much harder to take runs out, I’ve been a sprayer for many years now and I love teaching it. Some people just take to it and then there’s people that just freeze and bugger the job up, it took me about 2years before I was confident enough to tackle jobs on my own. Keep up the great content and keep spraying,😷

100% an I-music spec Clio. They usually have a badge on the top rear quarter panel but some people de badge them. I-music spec also on same age Meganes as well. Good to see you are making sure it leaves you in good condition 👍
Rob, are you concerned about the darker colour primer on the boot being visible under the white paint as a shadow? seeing as you have only primed half of it. I know model builders do it to weather the model for paint fade effects. Gonna be a little belter when done.
Not at all no it gets flatted back and goes very light 👍

Why does it get the black mottled effect after the primer coat?
Awful lot of talk here about attention to detail and going the extra mile etc.
This is what SHOULD happen when repairing a car. Seems like a lot of you are too used to buying crap from dodgy backstreet dealers!

Realy like the effort you guys put into the cars, 59 plate Clio car had just as much attention as the 18 plate Fiesta to achieve an excellent finish. Most wouldn't bother on the cheap car. Look forward to seeing the end result

Rob took my van in for a mot and service today swoop all my tools to a hire van and as I was turning the van round I reversed into my van denting the wing in. Been filling a accident form this afternoon..🤬
