Rooting Begonias from Leaves (from CUTTINGS to RESULTS!)

Begonias are a beautiful shade loving plant that can add some amazing foliage to your garden. They aren't hardy here in Tennessee and need to be grown in pots or grown as annuals in the garden. Begonias can be rooted from leaf and stem cuttings. Here is my attempt at rooting Begonias from leaf cuttings!

It’s so interesting to hear that roots can grow out from under the leaves! Hope you can do it again next year I would like to see it. I was also wondering if you can make a video on how to plant saffron crocus bulbs. I was just given a couple of bags of crocus bulbs yesterday by my sweet neighbor. She said she got it from baker creek. Thanks!

I'll look into the saffron crocus bulbs. I think it would need to wait until next year though. We may have a move coming in our future and I would hate to plant something else to leave behind!

One wants to cut just below the node of a stem on a clone. The leaf itself will have a difficult time rooting. Begonia is an easy one to clone. I recommend trying again.

That's true for most plants but in the case of begonia it can root from the leaves. I'll give it a other go though. At least I was able to get some of the cuttings to root.

@@Growingthehomegarden The only reason I say that, it because my friends plant accidentally clones itself all the time. Pieces fall off from dogs hitting it - they root right there on the floor if left alone.
