    • @bnic9471
      @bnic9471 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Marriage creates stable children and self-sufficient families. That would leave certain social service agencies much less to do and declining budgets. Said healthy families raising highly functional individuals are also far more difficult to herd around like complacent farm animals. I don't think this is intentional, but it is certainly profitable and prone to inertia.

    Here is what seem to be ignored in all of these discussions: There has ALWAYS been class dividing lines: The "haves" and "have-nots", if you will. Traditionally, the working class, as a whole, was largely willing to keep to themselves, make a living (if albeit barely), raise their families and not make waves (provided that they remained in a position to make a living, that is. Greed on the part of companies/corporations being a powerful motivator and all.). The difference is, the effects of wage disparagement are now more obvious. With automation, cheaper labor found overseas and a myriad of other factors the working class has started seeing such jobs become increasingly scarce. To put it plainly, the American working class simply has not been able to compete as a whole, with these overwhelming factors. Add in mass media and you have an already existing condition brought to light. It's not like it hasn't always been there, the public in the past could just chose to ignore it. Now, the situation is so obvious, no amount of pretending will make it disappear.

    • @NEMO-NEMO
      @NEMO-NEMO 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Raymond King would you say the working class was/is the middle class? Or in your opinion is the working class, then and now, the lower classes? You see in my opinion, the working class will always eventually become the middle class. The middle class can never come from anywhere else, it is a direct result of the working class climbing the ladder and reaching the “American Dream”. The middle class has never and will never be made up of people that hv made a living through “rent money”, Wall Street or enough higher learning that affords them 6 figure salaries. I work in a town where the average home is 2.5 million dollars and when I am in conversation with many of these town folks, they consider themselves middle class! Either they are afraid of calling themselves wealthy and privileged or they really do believe they are middle class. Regardless, the disappearance of blue collar work in America is deeply connected to the lawlessness of open borders and greedy, un American companies, and small business including hospitals, restaurants, mom&pop establishments, who decided to break the law and hire any and all illegal people so they could save a buck. The only reason folks chose to “ignore it” was because they could always find a job within their experience and those jobs afforded many people with decent pay, benefits, pensions, Unions, steady work without fear of being laid off, fired or the loss of a job from overseas competition. Hip Hip Hurray for the working class.

      Lol, in the first 3 minutes he literally explained there's always been rich and poor people that live in different parts of town etc. The point is the upper classes were still alot more connected to lower class people than they are now.

    If public schools today were like they were in his and Thomas Sowell’s day, it would be fine to send your kids there, but they’re not. My kids do private for elementary & middle, and I allowed them to go public for high school, only because they’d gotten the English and math fundamentals so I felt it wouldn’t hurt them. He’s so right, but we live in a paradigm that doesn’t permit it, because of the stranglehold of the unions. Sigh

      This man, Dr. Murray, has been made a pariah by the armies of the politically correct. He was even threatened by outraged students at a private university a few years ago. I don't think he was injured, but a professor guiding him to safety sustained a neck injury. The man catches a lot of FLAK because he's cruising over the target; the United States is lousy with a money- and privilege-drunk, rent-seeking ruling class scarcely touched by the harm its policies cause. Charles Murray sees and explains this with deadly clarity.

What does it have to do with Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson. I look forward to getting a response in a few years being this is an old video. Thank you.

      In his book "By The People", he goes into great detail on Hamilton and his desire for a huge central government, and his disputes with Madison and Jefferson. He also goes into depth on the supreme court rewriting of the constitution between 1937-1942, including social security, which was previously declared unconstitutional. When the supreme court rewrote the constitution to allow Congress unlimited powers of spending and alternative legislation through the creation of independent departments, they effectively destroyed the constitution, the constitutional republican, and created the congressional elite.

    Minimum wage has never been a living wage, that’s the first thing.
    Jobs where you received benefits and pensions or 401ks where the employer participated and included raises with incentives to climb the ladder to better positions within the company were the jobs that created the real middle class in this country. Those were the folks who paid the Union dues and still had enough monies, after a number of years, to buy a humble home, start a family, buy a car, fridge, washer/dryer, bikes for the kids, save for future college funds, give your kids an option to become white collar, hv Mom stay at home. See this is what made America great. But nooooooooo, employers are always looking for slaves or cheap labor. Take away the manufacturing base of America and give it to the Asians!!!! They promise they won’t steal intellectual blah blah blah from us. Yes, it’s good!!! Everyone will enjoy buying cheaper crap and lots of it. Yes, those manufacturers saving all that money from these sons-of-*%%#^, Americans, that wanted Unions and benefits and pensions will dry up, die! Die! Die! Once again we will hv the poor and the rich. The best social system that has ever existed. Serfdom. All we need now is a Papal system of government that rules from a god-like belief of infallibility.
    Don’t worry be happy.

    At 46 minutes and 2 seconds into the video, Dr. Murray is asked what I believe to be the most relevant question asked by any member of the audience. He was asked, essentially, that given that there is a statistically significant difference in mean IQ between different racial groups and given that the racial groups having the lowest mean IQ (blacks and hispanics) are increasing as a percentage of the population while the present majority racial group with one of the highest mean IQ (caucasian) is decreasing as a percentage of the population, what are the foreseeable ramifications and consequences to the United States in the years in decades to come? Dr. Murray completely avoided the question and instead took it as an opportunity to criticize book reviewer’s for having mischaracterized the primary crux of his earlier book, The Bell Curve. I can’t think of a more relevant question than “what will happen to the United States as the average IQ of the entire heterogeneous population declines?” I respect and admire Dr. Murray, but it was either ego or his cowardice that precluded him from responding to this question with a serious assessment of what our future looks like given the inexorable decline in our population‘s overall mean IQ.

      I lived three years in the Beltway, when I was deployed at Ft Belvoir. It's one thing to tally this as a statistic, another to see the outrageous wealth and bombastic privilege and arrogance it fosters firsthand.
      Charles Murray isn't saying anything the DC elite have not been well aware of for decades. They created the situation.

    The family generation measurement of income and opportunity. Less economic opportunity and more organizational cronyism within our government. Then vs now. " If the past is at fault for who, what and where we are today in life and if the past can't be changed then we are programmed to stay where we are and or what we are in life." Elizabeth Warren did several talks on the subject about the middle class.

    I am an unmarried male. I have a lot of unmarried friends. Most are successful business owners or professionals. Most are excellent athletes. Most are bright (much higher than median IQ) . We do happen to live in the Rocky Mountain West of the USA, which is quite expensive, and extremely competitive. So some filter and selection bias has occurred. Just as Murray says once upon a time men without a good job were considered bums, I wish things were so easy here. Here, anybody not in top notch physical condition and unable to (extreme) ski, or participate in other demanding physical sports, unable to do some form of art or music, along with their ability to acquire wealth, seem to be considered losers. We have a lot of illegal immigrants from Mexico and Central America here. I find it noteworthy that once acclimated, many of these immigrants, in their own ways are adapting the Spartan health/fitness/ wealth attitude of this area. Gotta run. (literally)

    • @Alcani3ca
      @Alcani3ca 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Not grade inflation and people arent getting smarter. Its just that for universities there is a lot higher supply of students to choose from. Most kids in the US today go to college after high school. On top of that, they're competing with students all over the world.
      Given this huge supply of students, universities no longer only evaluate candidates based on their grades but on other factors as well. For example: athletic abilities, previous leadership roles, how many languages they speak and their rankings on competitions such as spelling bee, math olympiads, computer science competitions and debates. Only someone that is very smart can have good grades and be good in one or more previously mentioned.

    Forget money, riches, the only way America will make it is if we get back to God. Quit letting people teach us money is all we need to educate, to heal, to home, to feed everyone. Man has yet to accomplish it after all these years. If man gives, man can take it back. Protect your home and family by using the wisdom of God in Deut. 6:8-9
    Psalms 119:151
    Thou art near, O LORD; and all thy commandments are truth.
    Jesus is The Word, John 1:1-5
    The Word God spoke: Exodus 20:1
    The Word God wrote: Deuteronomy 4:13
    and The Word God made flesh John 1:14. He is our example of The Trinity. He is The Law that hung on the cross and The Law that is written in the heart.
    Psalms 40:7
    Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me
    Hebrews 10:7
    Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
    With obedience to The Father in Deut.6:8-9, The Father anoints us with His Word, putting us in His Son, The Holy Spirit.
    Build up the body of Christ by 'putting on' The Lord. Cling to, dwell in the law (Ten Commandments) and testimony (Sermon on the Mount). We know His voice.
    His words are spirit and they are life. Hear Him. Prepare for your future and the life of your loved ones. As Paul tells us, "put on Jesus." Cling to, dwell in the Truth.
