I would much rather support an individual craftsman like this gentleman than buy anything from a corporate giant. Great work. Another beauty.

I agree over here(Australia) the SM would be several thousand easily... you would barely have much change from buying the materials/consumables for that price!

That's a really nice fire pit and excellent workmanship. I would like to build a fire pit for my backyard. I'm going to have to brush up my welding with my everlast though. My welds still look like rabbit pellets.

Allen, the wood ashes and water create lye, and it's the lye that destroys the steel.

There is a huge difference in a "welder" and a Fabricator ! I've been in the Ornamental metals business for 30 years now.

Your channel is the one I enjoy watching the most. Consider the option of supplying the pit's & grills with a custom tarp & get the wife to manufacture the custom tarp's and charge extra for them.

Robert Coyle that is very cheap , material for the ones i build cost so much that if i’m not careful I won’t make any money , one like this i’d charge $1000 , allen is top notch and very gifted in his skills

Not to be a smart butt, but the rain and the ash actually cause a caustic lye which is very strong! Just wanted to bring that up. It’s what is used in the old soap recipes but hay that thing is killer bud, great job.

Allen you are correct on the ashes. Hardwood ashes contain Lye. In fact old timers used hardwood ashes to take the skin off dried corn in order to make Hominy. If you don't mind me asking what gauge expanded metal did you use on that one?

Great work man!! I recently built a custom Smoker/BBQ and I used some of your tips and turned out great! I'm trying to sell it and just not getting the action I anticipated? People are kinda cheep in the area I live and they just don't want to pay what it's worth $350...Do you have any advice for a fellow fabricator to sell work and drum up custom work like yourself? I can tell you one thing for sure...if you were located in a higher paying area you would be in a full blown shop and be VERY Successful! You do REALLY nice work. Any advice would be greatly appreciated brother!👊 Thanks

Jason Olson not sure about anyone else, but here we have a lot of Facebook Garage Sale pages on FB targeted at various neighborhoods and subdivisions. People post a lot of higher priced items on the pages for the more upscale neighborhoods.

Hey mate love your work, you seem very down to earth, and have genuine passion,I agree bloody steel prices are crazy.By the way I’m a plumber from Australia, that also has a passion for welding, but hey mate nowhere near your league.be interesting to see what the cost would be to have one landed to Australia.im from Melbourne in the south of Australia. Its starting to really take off in Australia you know, grilling, smoking etc.Even had my phot taken with Miron Mixon when he was here at start of year.Anyway hope to here from you.(Aussie Gez)
