No. Jaar created a sound combining down tempo electronic music with initially jazz sounds and then moved into rock with the Dave Harrington/Darkside collaboration. David august completely copied both. David August's first boiler room that made him big, I thought, this is a complete copy of Jaar. The equipment he uses, the way he dances behind the decks, the radio sound bites. It was clear he'd watched Jaar's first boiler room, looked up his gear and thought lets do that. The only difference was a slightly more german synthier quality to it. I thought to myself ok, fine, lets respect the musicianship and not take too much notice of the copying.
But what I like to see of a great artist is their progression and how they evolve from their original sound to their next album. To basically watch Jaar's evolution to Darkside and mimic it...again. Is totally unimaginative and unoriginal. Jaar is the chef, August is the crockery assistant sneaking in to the chefs fridge every night to steal ingredients. But we can all see through it.

Why ur making a music using my second name?
Chaque dj à des inspirations, de la à dire que David august est nul et qu'il copie absoluement tout sur Nicolas jaar c'est complètement déplacé. Faites la moitié d'une de ses prod qui sont si travaillé au niveau de la musicalité du mastering et tout simplement de l'inspiration et on en reparle. En comparaison avec Darkside lui est seul et amene une touche rock tout en garde sa rythmique qui lui est propre et que l'on retrouve finalement dans pas mal de ses sons. Peut on parler de copie amélioré je ne crois pas non plus, vu la difficulté de création de ses types de musiques. Ce mec a des influences on les ressens mais il faut arrêter de dire que ces une pal copie d'une autre. Je vous invite à regarder sur la scène tech house actuelle, El Row etc ou encore sur la scène edm ou si vous voulez allez plus loin tous les rapeurs de la côte ouest dans les années 90 , les sonorite sont proche la construction des sons toujours la même la manière de danser ou d'animer des dj toujours pareil. Nous avons toujours des préférences.. Ce n'est pas en crachant sur les autres qu'on les étaye...
