Louisa Flaningam singing "Willkommen" from CABARET (1981)

While both Chita Rivera and Frank Gorshin were announced to play the Master of Ceremonies in Melody Top Theatre's 1981 production of CABARET, the role was eventually played by Louisa Flaningam. A true "triple-threat" talent, Flaningam's other Top appearances included Velma Kelly in CHICAGO (1980) and Younger Belle in LITTLE ME (1983). In his Milwaukee Journal review, published on Wednesday, August 12, 1981, Damien Jaques offered this assessment of her performance: "Flaningam is a delight to watch. A fine dancer and a polished actress, she moved with the knowing stealth of a wolf watching its prey. Whether she was strutting or sneaking, every step was sure, every line spoken with certainty."
