Hi Paul. Just want to say, despite being born 5 years after Swindon Cable went off air, I love this archive so much. As a trainspotter, whose grandad used to be a technical author at the Works, it’s mesmerising to see what swindon was like in his prime. I guess it’s just because i’m a history nut, but still, thanks so much for sharing these. You can sometimes catch me on Platform 3/4, if you’re ever spotting at the same time
Cavendish Sq was built in the early 60s there was nothing there in the 50s I know because I lived in Welcome Ave and would have to go to a place to buy groceries which was at Lawns or I should say behind Lawns.
I lived in park south for 14 years and I remember the council were talking about redeveloping it I think the works started in 2006 because that's when kwik save closed

The old Aspen House also housed Swindon's Unemployment Benefit Office until 1986.
