  • In my 1st week of a new strength training cycle. This is a template of a strength workout I do straight after a weekly dunk session. Due to some patellar tendinopathy pain I'm avoiding knee-dominant lifts on dunk days and saving those for later in the week. For the next 4-6 weeks I'll be able to prioritise strength gains and lower my weekly dunk volume. This will be the 1st time ever where I string together more than 3 weeks of strength-specific training, so I'm anticipating some new 1RMs on my squats, deadlifts, hip thrusts and (later on) hang cleans. Another goal for this year is to improve my standing vertical leap as well as that has been a weakness for a while now and I believe correlates to my current strength levels.

It's very manageable when you're only dunking and sprinting once a week on the same day. The rest of the week is only 4 lifting days which feels about right once you've done a couple of weeks of conditioning.
