Sad fact : the producers didn't expect to have that amazing chemistry between Chrissy and Eddie in the forest, they shoot that scene later, so once they saw this they regretted having cut her out of the shows !

Welcome to season 4. You have to really pay attention to details this season. As far as El writing letters. Back in the day, we had to pay extra per minute for long distance phone calls. The box from Russia was probably so large because limited resources. Teachers and students were way less “PC” back then. Bulling was more widely excepted. They had a “just tough it out” , “ things will get better “ or my fav “kids just being kids” mentally. Great Reaction! So glad to see you guys are finally here!! 🎃

Regarding the teachers: Schools were REALLY badly equipped to handle bullying ... I mean, even now it's not great, but in the 80s? HOo boy. If there were cameras, there weren't many. And the whole culture of understanding bullying and dealing with it was really undeveloped. I feel horrible for Jane, but I also feel bad for the teachers who know what's going on but aren't adequately trained or supported.
Dunno. Many of us were severly bullied and beaten in school and we are just fine. Being weak and unable tó stand up for yourself seems tó be an american thing.

I've been firmly Team Lucas since S1 but this season? He's my favorite character hands down. I was so mad at Mike and Dustin this first episode for leaving him like that, even if it let us see Erica's amazing entrance. That was a lot of good catch snipes in episode one. Personally presumed that Chrissy’s family was involved with the meat monster from the end of season 3 (in which case, they got weird-scary and have been dead since) but she kind of can’t answer that anymore.
I don't agree with you guys saying Lucas is "choosing" this isolated position from his friends because the game wasn't something that could be rescheduled and they could have played dnd another day and went to support him for what was an important game. He feels let down.
Lucas made the choice to involve himself in an activity he knew his friends weren’t interested in just so he could get in good with the popular crowd who look down on those very friends for enjoying things they DO like (like D&D). It’s his right to social climb if he wants, but he shouldn’t expect them to give up their lives and interests to help him achieve his goal. The idea that D&D is so easy to reschedule is almost as absurd as their wanting the coach to reschedule the game. Scheduling is one of the hardest parts when it comes to keeping a campaign going even in a world where cheerleaders aren’t being snapped to pieces in the DM’s living room.

The D&D game was already scheduled before the basketball game was announced, it didn't just pop up out of nowhere. No one insisted he give up going to the game (despite the fact he'd spent the entire season on the bench and had 0 hand in getting to the championship in the first place) even though he technically had a commitment to Hellfire, as well. He has every right to be disappointed no one was there (even though his parents are really the only ones who should've felt any obligation), but that doesn't mean he was right/they were wrong or even vice versa. As someone who grew up in Indiana in this era, this whole championship thing was absolute nonsense manufactured to create drama to start with, but it doesn't change the fact his agenda simply didn't align with theirs.

Yay, this is my favorite season! It’s so dark and crazy and really channels a horror vibe. Eddie’s the best already! I really liked him and Chrissy’s dynamic. Wished she could’ve stayed around longer, but her death was wild. Eddie is definitely scarred for life now after seeing that.
So happy to see you're starting S4. After the massive disappointment that was S3, I didn't go into this one with high expectations, but as soon as Eddie was introduced it started picking up and I was helplessly hooked by the end of the episode. While not perfect by any means, it is definitely the best season by far in my book.

Yay, this is my favorite season! It’s so dark and crazy and really channels a horror vibe. Eddie’s the best already! I really liked him and Chrissy’s dynamic. Wished she could’ve stayed around longer, but her death was wild. Eddie is definitely scarred for life now after seeing that.

So happy to see you're starting S4. After the massive disappointment that was S3, I didn't go into this one with high expectations, but as soon as Eddie was introduced it started picking up and I was helplessly hooked by the end of the episode. While not perfect by any means, it is definitely the best season by far in my book.
