i dont know why people never explain things well in the comments. the jacket that was popular was so expensive that it was putting so much pressure on the backs of the kids' parent's who could hardly afford it that it was "breaking their spines" which is an idiom, thats why the song is called spine breaker. the whole thing is bts criticising the trend that takes advantage of kids parents just cause the jackets were so popular this song has mostly been performed as a joke because of a run episode where they all made a mv for this song entirely on the spot and it was super silly, they also wore those pearl jackets because they thought they looked funny and they had to wear them for blood, sweat and tears performances at the time
The song is about teenagers breaking their parents’ spines asking for expensive name brand clothes, etc, when they can’t afford them and not doing anything themselves to be able to buy them (like get a job). BTS is basically saying that they’ve worked really hard and can afford to buy expensive clothes because of that, so work hard yourselves and stop expecting your parents to have to buy those things only because others have them. 💜💜

This is another one of their songs which appear to be lighthearted but actually has a serious message; in this case a slap to those kids who would have the jacket at all costs, disregarding that their parents have to work hard to afford it. The jackets (and the kids) were called "spine breaker" because of the financial burden on the parents.

This song is such a great vibe, but still gives a deeper meaning behind the catchy beat. I love when all 7 BTS members are in their own element because we get more of a glimpse of their individual personalities and can we please show a little appreciation for TaeTae's deep voice. That man's voice got so deep which you rarely hear in majority of the BTS songs. We need to show appreciation for Jin's choreography and his crackhead energy. They are all so cool and lit especially Jhope and TaeTae. It is just that vibe that you have to be born with and can't be taught or bought.
