I grew up in the Midwest & recently visited Columbus. The suburbs seem similar to Detroit but, with a sourthern accent. The airport is big enough for direct flights but, small enough to enjoy traveling through. The Midwest & the South still have value buys compaired to the West.

We are getting a new airport! It should break ground next year and be finished in 2030 I believe

Columbus Ohio is a very nice city however it faces the same demographics problems that almost every major city is dealing with. Look at a crime map of Columbus and you'll see that there's maybe two or three neighborhoods left that crime hasn't spilled over to. Atlanta used to be like that and now everyone lives north of the city because the city itself is not safe.

In Columbus, Ohio, prices are getting high. Traffic is bad too! Just like every place that has growth! There are a lot of condos and townhomes, with high monthly HOAs in the walkable areas. But like everywhere else, if you want good public high schools, you have to live on the outskirts, suburb parts, to get more affordable housing. Columbus, Ohio has such high property taxes and prices are getting up there as well! Certain parts are really nice. But if you need a 3/2 with a yard, it gets expensive. And unlike TX and other no income tax states, there is income tax that is higher too. So the affordability factor for a family with kids does not match the medium income. I think for couples or singles it is still reasonable, compared to other states.
    Congrats on your investments!

It's Google, Intel and more that are moving into the area which is boosting home prices. Just like the companies that moved to Phoenix:)

I live in Columbus, def an up and coming city. 14th largest city with a huge housing shortage- a lot of tech companies are moving here due to the low cost. Just joined the FB group Jessie would love to connect.
