There's a bit of hope, though. If Starmer goes it will be because his own MP's want him gone, and the only reason MP's ever want to remove their leader is if his government has been so unpopular that there's a risk they, too, will lose their seats at the next election. These MP's will want a PM and a Cabinet that will be popular with the public so that they'll vote Labour again, and that means installing people who will be nothing like Starmer and his crew. In the meantime the best thing we can do is make sure we vote for anyone but Labour in local elections. When Labour start losing councils and councillors, Labour MP's will start getting the jitters and are likely to put pressure on Starmer to change direction (or to quit - fingers crossed!)
