When I was a kid my family couldn't afford playset etc. My sister and I had to save pocket money for weeks on end just to buy one Star Wars figure! Many a time, an upturned cardboard box with a little bit of colouring, some smaller item boxes, margarine tubs, yoghurt or dessert pots, various other bits and bobs and tons of imagination would substitute Jabba's palace, Yavin base, the Death Star, Hoth, the Great Pit of Carkoon and loads of other Star Wars locations. Your simple, cheap but effective dioramas very much put me in mind of those wonderful days and just what can be achieved with some scraps and a drop of imagination. No need for over-priced bits of plastic that don't get the job done (Hasbro, I'm lookin' at you!) May the Force be with you.
Was thinking of that line, as well. ^_^ And I think you're right about it being Piett. Anywho, that was a really neat scene in the movie. "I want them alive - No disintegrations!"
Well this is an awesome setup, I love the way those decals worked and the blastdoor with that effect of depth looks great. I kinda like more these small diaromas, with a singe scene instead of a very large diorama that sometimes you can't appreciate it well. Nevertheless both kinf of dioramas look awesome!
Boy am I glad I clicked on this diorama BudgetJedi! Niub Niub's decal downloads will be extremely helpful in Project Boba especially the Death Star and Coruscant ones. That will save on hours of painting and waiting for it to dry. Too bad his TH-cam channel is closed, and is he, by chance, the same guy on TheDioramaWorkshop? Great diorama as always man.
@Toto8776 hey man thanks a lot for watching, i really hope you do make a diorama, and half the fun is sharing it with the community! thanks for the kind comment !
you are such an inspiration budgetjedi!!! i love your dioramas! this is such a great way to save money and display my favorite star wars figures. Thank you so much!
Great job man, I've always wanted to make my own dioramas but didn't know where to start. Going through your videos has been a huge help. Keep up the good work.
Hey there, well thanks for the kind words and watching! Will you share some of your creations on your channel in the future? or just collections? if you do that'd be so awesome!
@maddwoba oh man, totally! I was totally wishing to make that same bespin duel dio too someday. But you did it best! thanks so much for the awesome comment my friend, and really really really look forward to your next dio! yay!
@ComicToyReviews Thanks a lot man, appreciate you watching, wow even a non star wars collector can appreciate it it feels good lol. YES it would have been a lot less quality nowadays just all CGI crap. lol
An awesome display and setup. One of the great scenes from the whole series. :-) If they made it today they would have computer graphic made most of them. Back then they actually made the costumes and that just makes the movie more real.
@aliasangelalias what a great idea! indeed it would have been nice to cover that huh? that would have made it tons better! Thanks for watching and the comment, really appreciate it!
@ToyCollectoR98 Thanks my friend, oh man, if hasbro released those kind of playsets, i would be the first to buy them, thanks for the awesome comment ,and happy halloween!
Another amazing video. You are quite the inspiration. I'm just now discovering your work. I hope you are continuing your great dioramas and videos. Thank you for your work.
got to be your best diorama yet, awesome that you can download free decals, makes it a lot easier, I'll need to get to work on my diorama next week, added to favorites, :) well done man :)
OMG! It is so awsome and powerful! Well done man! With plenty of space on the Visionaries card back, you can make the table if you wish! Thanks for sharing your wonderful job again!
@slingsAweb thanks a lot for watching and the comment. I am working on my first MU diorama so i can pretend to be one of you cool ACBA guys lol. but seriously if it's OK i'll send you the video when i'm done. cheers
@etheangel2220 Great great idea! thanks so much for the awesome comment E, it's always nice to hear your ideas and comments coming from a truly gifted artist with great eye! Thanks so much!
@JeffTheFutureJaros Thanks for watching man! yeah you been checking out my dios since day 1 too so really appreciate that. Yeah i don't like to just put my loose figures on the shelves, they need some "reinforcements" lol. that's why i make dioramas. thanks a lot for the awesome comment
Man by now, you're no amatuer, you've been awesome at Diorama's from the get go man, I wouldn't know where to begin on these, lol. Great job. Give yourself more credit....
as soon as you pointed out the death star trooper in the reference pic, i though of Dark Helmet Man! great stuff as always...and i think it would be neat if you did something with that gap between the backround and the platform piece...maybe stick some droids in there like a service/access hallway. but true you got your focus area and thats central to your distinctive style
@danieleast1000 lol, yeah mate that's what happens when I get too lazy to open up my figures out of card i end up borrowing lol. Thanks a lot for watching and as usual the awesome comment
All to easy!!---hahaha---Man you have out done yourself again--The website with all the scenes would have saved me a bunch of trouble if I would have know about before I made my Bespin Duel. All of the backgounds are on there to print off.Ed it really looks great--I think you have inspired me to do another dio-hehe--
Nice setup indeed. You know where the card board areas that got bend and you can see the card board separator.. I know you use the black tapes to cover it but you can still see the card board in between. Perhaps it might be a good idea to use a black marker to color the card board separate/bend area. Or use your black tape again for the in between bend area. Everything else looks fantastic. :) good job!
i've sometimes wondered if i could sell displays if i made them professional-looking. after all, my wife and i happen to own a trophy/screenprinting shop and we have a vinyl cutter not to mention a few professional-quality printers, so i have certain advantages in being able to make particularly nice looking backgrounds, i think. added to that, i have access to particular materials that might work out very well towards displays, e.g. beveled plexiglass at wholesale prices and business relationships with people who could cut custom pieces. that kind of thing. i look at the flooring of this display and i just want to cut out some shiny black metal out on my metal cutter and put it down with some double-sided tape! lol. well, anyway, if it's one thing i could add to anyone looking for something a bit more upscale, check out your local trophy shop and have them cut you out some flooring out of coated aluminum. bear in mind that it would be engraving metal, so it scratches relatively easily, but you could get around that without a problem if you found a shop that does sublimation, which you would have to gouge out to mar. that would be a bit more expensive, but the advantage would be that if you provided artwork you could get any design on the floor or wall you wanted. the thing is you could get something with a real shine on it and doesn't look like plastic or a cheaper substitute. the human eye is pretty good at detecting what's made out of what usually, and metal just has a certain gravitas, eh? lol. good job with the materials laying around, though. :)
Weren't there lower ranking imperial officers with those funny gray naval hats working the controls? I don't think Death Star Troopers manned the computer panels. They were just guards.
@DaddyIvo hahahaha dude that's the best comment ever. tell you wife i said thanks a lot, that's good for my ego ! Yeah me and you BOTH dude, i didn't want to open up my bounty hunters so i borrowed some figs. lol. Hell yeah your gift came the day i was shooting my finished scene for this video, so imagine that! thanks a lot ivo appreciate it as usual man, really glad you enjoyed it!
@devilstoysuk2 hell yeah what a great idea! the problem is i don't have any more men to put on the bottom part so this dio is just finished the way it is, when i get sick of it i'll probably throw it away lol. Thanks so much for watching, would it' be awesome to build a DCU dio? it will be huge but it would be fun!
Oh you mean the windows for the executor, that was just cut out cardboard, I don't think niubniub had it on his website, but that part wasn't movie accurate on my part just so you know :) I just cut it out to a shape that is similar to the actual windows FYI
WOOOW Great Diorama as always ^.^ i was on taht site before fopr a long time only to look at is great work :) Th way you made the diorama with the ideas is realy interisting , the door like mrcorilian did taht is realy a great idea to doo :) I am your fan haah :) keep the great work :)
@UNDEADCOSMONAUT Thanks for watching, it will be super epic to see this with vintage figs! Thanks for watching, yeah if you go to that website and print color you can even make a better one than this!
@RockenDokkenlover91 big time. I take cheapness to a new level lol - I even managed to produce 2 dios using mrcorellian's figures. Thanks for watching and the comment
@NKToyReviewer I didn't use glossy paper, that was simple paper but then i taped over it with clear tape. Because I was too lazy to use glue. Thanks for watching.
omg your work is just so cool ! i just love it :D now im gonna watch your boba fett escape scene and btw i agree that the scene with needa and bossk was powerful :D. if i would get the chance of making a diaroma , i would make the first 1 on 1 fight of darth vader versus luke in the carbon freeze chamber and i already know that would take a long time Lol !
Hi Budget Jedi! Love your work. I have downloaded the decals from Niub Niub. But I can´t figure out how you cut out the Star Destroyer Windows?? I cannot make any of decals fit for the windows. How did you make the windows? Best regards Rygge

This was one of my most favorite star wars scenes ever. You my friend just made it even better
I do believe it was Admiral Piett that was looking up at Bossk's reptillian feet. He says with contempt "Bounty hunters, we don't need their scum."
Was thinking of that line, as well. ^_^ And I think you're right about it being Piett. Anywho, that was a really neat scene in the movie.
"I want them alive - No disintegrations!"
@TheLipmannToy thanks my friend! hahaah i love that you noticed that! Really appreciate you watching and thanks for the awesome comment!
