Thank you, so helpful. I’m going to Europe in a month, I’m planning on bringing socks to knit on the plane, I’ve got a basic sock pattern memorized. It’s a long flight, maybe I’ll actually make some real progress being stuck on a plane for that long! I’ve always been afraid to bring metal needles, but I’m going to be brave this time!

Great travel and knitting tips! I've done lots of travelling but not as a knitter so it's a whole new thing for me. Thanks for sharing.

I’ve only flown a few times since I started knitting, and always within the US. I always print out the TSA webpage that states knitting needles are ok to bring in Carry-on luggage and so far it has gone well! I definitely avoid bringing my more sharp DPNs and I put stoppers or needle covers on any live projects!

I also have never had my knitting needles confiscated. I have also travelled in Europe without any questions other then what I am making. I have a little tiny puppy scissors that has about a 1/2 in blade. Good thought on the Dpns. Generally I use circulars so don't use my dpns very often. Liked the tip of printing off the TSA sheet just in case.

WOW I am stunned and impressed that TSA have never taken knitting needles off you. Well done. I have never travelled with crafting items but I packed some apple slices for the plane snacks in a stasher bag in my carry on item and TSA took apple slices off me. Despite them being allowed in regulations.May I ask do you travel alone because I travel alone as a lone female doing nothing wrong and TSA completely pick on me every single time. Funnily enough the security in Irish and England airports do not seem to give me the huge amount of grief TSA do

@@AthynVixen I do! Back when i traveled for work, I was traveling alone about 70% of the time. Now a days I’m mostly traveling with my friends, but this year I’ll have done 2 solo trips to the west coast.
