Somehow that makes her not just beautiful but also safe. Like, I could be around a Velvet spider in real life and not panicking. You have beautiful pets but she's definitely my pick for cutie ❤️
Velvets look so soft and thick, but jumpers win overall. So sweet and fuzzy! The way they look at you! All their different personalities! I'd rather have a spider who likes to explore and you actually see out. I think if you have jumpers, you should have several (unless you have other spiders.) Then you won't stress as much when your jumper decides to disappear in their hammock for a week. You just have to be prepared for heartbreak. I love jumpers because they’re super intelligent and have cool little personalities almost like a dog or a cat with 8 legs. I saw a video in a spider group I’m in that had a jumper moving in on a fly and it caught the fly so quick that if you blinked you’d miss it. They’re both so beautiful! I love your jumping spider, she’s so cute. I live in East TN, I see them outside my house in their little webbed cocoons sometimes. They’re usually a lot smaller. Thank you for showing us.
My favorite spider is in fact a velvet spider: the Adonea algarvensis - Sand Velvet Spider, here in Portugal. Is black with white on his back and four black spots or just a white drawing instead. They are just too cute.
Aww I love them both but think I love the jumping spiders slightly more. I think we get wild zebra jumping spiders in the UK 😊 Good that the velvet spiders live a bit longer tho & love their enclosures 💕
Saw someone make a really cool food puzzle for their jumper, something where it had to find an opening to fit through to access prey. They're definitely more intelligent than most insects, make sense to exercise them mentally!
very much a TIE! Jumping spider are totally tiny "FLUFF BUDDIES"! Velvet spiders seem to be the" PERFECT SIZE" of a spider. Adorable but nut fragile. There just not as "Poofy" as a jumping spider, but they seem to have a cute personalitly, like a jumping spider.
Jumpers, I luv the things. Long ago, they would hang out around my home, getting fat on the bugs around my flowers, I didn't use poison, just encouraged the good things. Jumpers love that, I would see some as big as my thumb (the body). My sister and I would visit each others house and before the other would go home, we would check out the garden to see what size jumpers were hanging out. My boyfriend at the time thought I was crazy. Nope, just luv the jumpers.
Like many here I have a phobia and moving to Florida from the UK didn't help 🤪 but the jumping spiders here have made me chuckle many times. Now I've been watching you handle jumping spiders and it doesn't seem bad at all. I tried watching the tarantula stuff you have but girl.....I'm not ready 😆 but thanks for helping us phobia people experience them
I have a little jumping spider, I caught it in my car and decided to keep it as a pet. Mine has a little web hideaway too. It's just the cutest little thing. I love him/her. 🕷🖤
I live in Ontario too and see the same spider that was posted below! I think jumping spiders are really cool I recently watched SnakeDiscovery go find jumping spiders and house them
jumping spiders are by far the cutest. I'd love to have one as a pet, however I have a 2 year old and cats who like to hunt spiders. we have 2 jumpers that live free in our apartment and the last I saw them one of my cats was trying to knock them down so I moved them to the top of our cupboards
Thanks for this! :) I have thought about getting a velvet spider but it seems really hard to find info on how to keep them. I wondered - how often should you feed them? And do you mist them daily? I didn't realise they lived so much longer than jumpers!
I currently have two Eresus spiderlings (another genus in the Eresidae family). An E. walckenaeri and an E. morvaicus. They're still tiny, but such great spiders already. The walckenaeri is about 0.5cm. While the morvaicus is so insanely small that they're currently on a diet of springtails.
I have 2 jumping spiders, I live in North Florida. I do not know what type they are. One is black with white markings and is a pretty decent size. The other is black with orange details I'm pretty sure as a male, he has neonish fangs. We found them when we moved to our new house a few months ago, out in the woods. I love them they're both so different.
I would pick the Velvet because of the longer lifespan, I stopped keeping Mantis for that reason, cant deal with the heartbreak after getting attached so much :/ Also look at that cute black velvet face, love it
I have an Eresus. She's still a little sling but she's super cute. I can't wait till she's big enough to eat things other than fruit flies as they're not as commonly sold in pet stores in my area. I'm also in the (midwest) US so it definitely took months to find anyone selling them and they were not cheap. I was terrified when I got her that she might die when I saw how tiny she was because again, not a cheap spood. I've had her for only about 3-4 months and she's gotten quite a bit bigger in that time and is more hardy than I gave her credit for. Absolutely love her! I definitely haven't seen her much though because she stays in her web burrow. I've also had a phiddipus regius and I adore them as well so it's a hard choice.
There is a jumping spider somewhere in my room, and I am pretty sure it has been responsible for keeping the sac spiders at bay as I haven't seen a single one yet this winter...so far, at least. I'd have put it outside, but it was too cold so I just let it chill. I've kept several species of them before and love them. The velvet spider is still super cool though.
Man it looks like it’s a tie and we have to get both. Damn it lol
Deadass tho they both have a unique cuteness. N that ogre spider is massive...

They’re both so beautiful! I love your jumping spider, she’s so cute. I live in East TN, I see them outside my house in their little webbed cocoons sometimes. They’re usually a lot smaller. Thank you for showing us.
I live in east tn too!
Got to love our velvet spiders here in the UK - Seen the ladybird velvet spider? That's the one I know here.
Both are cool. Jumpers ARE fun to watch hunting. Have a great day.
Pick one??? Yeah, not gonna happen lol they are tooooo cute but I do like that the jumping spider is more active
You named her wednesday!! Thats so perfect!
Oooh which reminds me after seeing but button butt. Name the next Coraline. Just a thought hehe
Just picked up a gandanameno echinata, I would argue they have an awesome personality too! So cute!
That mushroom foot stool (?) is very cool.
YASS I was waiting for this kind of update ^~^ edit: imagine mini velvet spiders 😱 I love both tbh
Yay!! ... another awesome vid thanks Kat 🙂 x
Thanks for this! :) I have thought about getting a velvet spider but it seems really hard to find info on how to keep them. I wondered - how often should you feed them? And do you mist them daily? I didn't realise they lived so much longer than jumpers!
I feed mine about once a wk or so, and take care of her almost exactly like my jumper. I will give her one or two light sprays a couple times a month
@@tarantulakat Thanks very much for that info! :) I have one jumping spider, so far she does seem to want to eat about once per week.
I love your believer spider she’s just sooooooo cute and beautiful
I currently have two Eresus spiderlings (another genus in the Eresidae family). An E. walckenaeri and an E. morvaicus. They're still tiny, but such great spiders already. The walckenaeri is about 0.5cm. While the morvaicus is so insanely small that they're currently on a diet of springtails.
It's so hard to choose. They're both adorable! ^^
Okay Velvet spiders are adorable... this is my first time seeing one and not gonna lie... i dig it.
That exo terra nano is so cute, ima have to get at least one of em.
Jumping spider all the way. Another great video, Kat.
Jumping spiders are just so adorable. Those big beautiful eyes seal it for me.
They are both awesome!
Once you ask "which one" the answer is both :) Like last time when I went for my LP..."somehow" a P.irminia and P.murinus RCF appeared. idk...magic :D
Congrats on 100k
Both are adorable. Omg. I would love some.
Your velvet spider is gorgeous, but Phids will always have my heart.
That velvet spider looked so cool, like a miniature tarantula.
Kat can you do an enclosure set up video that is like chai’s enclosure was? I love it.
I would pick the Velvet because of the longer lifespan, I stopped keeping Mantis for that reason, cant deal with the heartbreak after getting attached so much :/
Also look at that cute black velvet face, love it
I have an Eresus.
