Summers, around age 13 or 14, I and a couple of other kids, worked for an auctioneer cleaning out EVERYTHING from houses. Usually, a widow was liquidating. Sometimes there was a classic for the time automobile. There were sure to be Hummels, and bundles of National Geographic and LIFE magazines in the basement. Playboy collections were tucked away more discreetly. We were told to open all the drawers and watch for wire rim glasses as they might be gold. - Sales like the one you mention always feel voyeuristic, don’t they? They are a fascinating portal into someone’s life. -
PS: The experience made me vow not to die with a lot of stuff!

If a museum doesn't intend to display an item for whatever reasons, the museum shouldn't have accepted that item in the first place. It would be a shame for a museum to sell a donated item without displaying it to the public at all. It's not just fraudulent. It's a crime

Disappointed with Leland little, for the Kangxi brush holder, they purposely don’t show the interior to mislead you about the crack. One of the photo actually clearly shows that the crack is quite serious. It would be nice to have clear and detailed photos of that crack. Be careful with Leland little!
