That looks like Summerland Dr area and Paremuka lake. My place backs on to Armada Reserve, was quite amazing seeing so much water moving through from Ranui Domain. All the water went over the road into houses 10 - 12 Armada Rd then carried on down Arodella Cre toward Swanson stream. Alot of those houses now red stickered.
Appreciate the concern. I'm quite familiar with the path as I walk the dog each day, so I knew there wasn't any major threats. It was about half a foot deep, so I wasn't in danger of being swept away, but it was quite fast moving.
A result of the Tongan volcano shooting hundreds of millions of tons of water into the stratosphere increasing its water content by 10% (see Oz Geographica) They think it will take 10 years and many floods before the stratosphere returns to normal
There was poor drainage when I lived in Henderson/Te Atatu Sth 40+ years ago [I remember when heavy rain would turn the main road into a mini river] and I doubt things have improved since then. Do they even clean the drains and around the grates now, they didn't when I lived there so when it rained the water had nowhere to go except down the roads/pavements.
Isn't that why every household is paying exuberantly expensive water bills and rates for wastewater and stormwater to sort out. Communities are already paying enough as is, do we need to get our shovels out and do their job too?
Guessing gazillion dollar properties are finally paying off! Lol. Its just going to become wetter and wetter every year, are you ready for the new reality?
Wait till Uncle Winston wins the next Election 😉 then we finally Have our own Chief take what's rightfully his, enough with your useless idiots,National party will probably legalise Crack for two years like there synthetic drug lord "JOHN KEYS" Did,that mongrel should be in jail, for the lives he destroyed.

People looking in from New Orleans and Bangladesh going sheesh lets get a Telethon sorted for these poor souls. 😥
IKR
Thank you for showing us, and stay safe mate! 🙂
Mate, be careful walking around in floodwater. A manhole lid could have lifted and you’ll go straight down.

Praying for everyone in Henderson! Truly manic!
Which part of Henderson? So long since I left I don't recognise any of it any more.
Prayers from New York. It looks like New York during tropical storm Henri. Rained all day. 🙏🙏
Currently on holiday in UK, just heard my house in Auckland has been flooded 😞
Sincerely sorry to hear that. This was unreal. My sympathy to anyone who was affected by the flooding.
I used to live around there.
Take care my friend
Thinking of you Auckland🙏💗

What?
bullcrap volcanoes have litlle impact
Wow that's is crazy. The last part of the video, is that the river alongside the shopping centre?
It is Paremuka Lakeside, a rainwater catchment pond. The outflow from this leads downstream to the houses that were flooded on TV1 News.
God blessed out to all my heart and prayers goes out to all 🤗🤗🤗🤗
I guess these are old waterways? Amazing to see whats happened back in Auckland out West.
Poor drainage

Mean floods here in south akl too
Urban sprawl all tied in to existing ageing pipe network. Just can't cope with the volume anymore.
Good for the tomato plants 👍
Glad i live on the 6th floor in Central,
All your electricals are in the basement .
@@stewatparkpark2933 left well is flooded, the electrics are on the ground floor, so safe,
very nice
Time to go fishing for eels !!!!!
Now people in Auckland can see what Gisborne has been putting up with for months unlike Auckland 🙄
Rather show sympathy it's not a competition
What a stupid thing to say.
Bloody mongrel
Come N.Z. communities get out there & help clear drains & what ever.

God is very weak in front of human today.
thank you for sharing

Clear the drain holes of debris,
that'll curb the flooding..
Labour Govt with Maori guidance, or co-governance gets you this
How on earth can you Blame this on the government???
Nigel Watkins are you kidding me? it's not the govt's fault it's raining
Nigel Watkins are you being sarcastic this literally has nothing to doth Labour or Maori

@@LR-vy5yy Don't be so bloody stupid!
Poor drainage
We actually have pretty decent drainage. This was very very rare. Further downstream houses were flooded out, which is a far worse concern.
