I so appreciate your comments as they are from a real vocal coach with knowledge of music and singing. There are unfortunately lots of so-called vocal coaches with absolutely no real knowledge. Just the fact that you immediately recognized the old time flower duet instead of attributing it to Dimash singing it, shows you know your stuff. Glad I can trust your judgement.

Если Вы видели премьеру этой песни 23 декабря 2023 года на концерте в Гонконге, где Димаш предстал в образе брутального мужчины, то наверняка еще раз убедились, что Димаш необыкновенно креативен. One of Dimash's team said it was not Dimash singing it and it was the original old recording that they used.
It still amazes me that he can go from singing with Placido Domingo and do this bluesy/rock almost power ballad and still sound equally good.

They don’t legally have to credit anyone since the old recording isn’t copyrighted. Listen to both and also William’s remarks: it isn’t Dimash singing both parts. But if you want to believe it is Dimash, then go ahead if it makes you happy. 😃

Once someone suggest it’s Dimash singing that old recording you start to kinda hear it (and maybe that’s why it was used? To kinda imply that Dimash actually IS a vampire who was there 100+ years ago when it was originally recorded lol), so I’m glad you cleared it up for anyone who doesn’t know the source.
I really love this song, and it’s been fun seeing people who’s never heard Dimash(or who thinks he only sings a specific kind of music) react to it.

Thank you for mentioning in no uncertain terms that that`s not Dimash :) Love for him spawns many unnecessary little myths :) Which ties in quite funnily with the idea of the video, belonging to Dimash 😁. An adorable, cheeky jab at people`s fantasies about him 😁 The director expressed the story elegantly : "A world-famous artist, who leads a very private lifestyle, decided to give his first open interview. The young journalist chosen by him goes to the meeting in great excitement, immensely worried and tormented by the question: “What if?…”. The woman’s vivid imagination suggests a mysterious image of the main character and plunges her into a mystical (imaginary) story." And continued : “Everyone knows that Dimash is a kind and simple person. Not much is known about his personal life, he does not often appear in the media space and does not give particularly personal interviews. We wanted to present the artist from a slightly different side, in a “book”, fictionalized image”.
To me, this is an adorable tango between Dimash and the Dears, the Dears come up with naughty/dreamy fantasies about him, he plays the "simple man, you know?" card, then secretly integrates the fans` fantasies, uses them to present an intoxicatingly cool image of himself, presents it as "the fans` (journalist) dream" and blends into the dream his response to their naughty imagination, his messing around with the girl, and finally scaring her out of her dream with a roar. It`s delicious, in psychological terms 🤭😁👌It tastes exactly like it feels for the fans sometimes, a temptation to fantasize, mixed with a bit of guilt, due to the respect they have for him. And also how it is for Dimash, a tendency to heed a more traditional, serious, respectable image for himself, to be a good emissary, and a temptation to give into some of the more "frivolous", but intoxicating characters, sides, that he learned that he can pull off, and that would match the exuberance of youth, and the image in his childhood dreams of becoming a star one day, when he was watching Michael Jackson and Freddie Mercury concert tapes.
It`s a beautiful tension between the two, and he managed so far to navigate it and bring it to life beautifully.

What a delight it was to watch a reaction from someone who understands music, understands Dimash and can articulately describe the musical choices that were made and the delivery of such a beautiful piece. Thank you for the information concerning the beginning opera recording. Your enthusiasm is contagious. This was a unique representation of Dimash. Of course his voice was flawless, but he was also seductive, manly and sexy while still remaining very romantic! His runs were masterful and literally made me want to cry! Is the Flower duet not perhaps Dimash singing with a Lo-Fi filter applied? That was my first impression. So many tools available now. I didn't see any credit for the recording and I don't think he would have overlooked that.
Maybe it’s part of the mystery. Only afterwards I realised the Flower Duet is in B major. Why is it being sung down in A flat?
Hi William. Thank you for your reaction to Dimashes new song. 👍 And for taking the time to explain that "it wasn't Dimash" singing LAKME FLOWER DUET. But I'm still a bit confused. We never know what to expect when it comes from Dimash. On his official Dimash channel he also wrote a message to all the Dears and challenged us to write a comment. Because the one who wrote the best comment would win a nice prize with tickets etc. to the next concert in Budapest in May, 24 on his birthday. And I have thought a lot about it. Not to write a comment to win the prize, 🏆 but why he wrote it in the first place. He has never done that before. But there's a first thing for everything, but still a mystery. I trust you more than anyone else in the world when you say it isn't Dimash singing the old record of LAKME FLOWER DUET.
