I completely agree it’s not right what’s in this report however if u want less scooters creating blocks on pavements then legalise private ones! Nobody will leave their own on the floor! And to combat the double riding and idiots using pavements etc give the police powers for harsh on the spot fines! To be fair to the two at the end of this it looked like they lost their balance so driver error you could say, no different to falling off a bicycle or driver error in a car which weighs a tonne! ITV did a programme on scooters on Thursday and showed police at the side of the road stopping private ones being ridden sensibly on the road when they should be patrolling city centres catching these idiot scooter riders 🤷‍♀️ if you ban scooters and fine ppl for pavement riding then do the same for bicycles and ebikes! But will u ever hear of police doing that, no, yet both bike types can travel at 20mph average!

It's not the scooter that's the problem It's the RIDER... all these people using escooters are inexperienced riders

Here in Canada we have started to register electric scooters. As a result, the police can now issue tickets and citizens can report them through the Bird and Lime app if they have video evidence.

You're lucky out there at least. You have alternatives to travel at your disposal

That’s only rental ones you mean though?? Swear I heard Montreal and other places in Canada private ones weren’t legal? Although also heard that enforcement on them was measured and sensible so you were unlikely to be stopped if being sensible with a helmet on etc

@@e-scooterguy There is legal uncertainty regarding electric scooters in Canada. In the province of Quebec (including Montreal), the police are extremely tolerant. If you wear your helmet and don't race in the streets. You shouldn't be stopped by a police officer. However, since it has become a big debate between the city and its people, it has now become a municipal law. So each city decides if it accepts scooters on its territory or not. Sincerely, I would say to you that it is accepted in almost all over the province of Quebec and the other Canadian provinces, the scooters are legal since 2019-2020.

@@e-scooterguy I called my municipality and the police station on my county , scooters are tolerated even if there is no law authorizing them to ride.

@@indrishahdorval3094 much better thinking than in the UK then! Rentals only in area’s doing a year trial. No private ones legal or “tolerated” officially 🤦🏽

Bet that scene was set up to make scooters look bad and as for people hurting themselves on scooters, you have more accidents on bikes! And get hurt more on them. At least when you crash with the scooters you can bail out on time and save yourself because you're not tied to the frame like you would be if you're on a bike. On a bike you will go down with the bike and get hurt more. Scooters are much safer than bikes.
