A few years ago my father and I visited my aunt in Leipzig (Germany) and my dad told me he got tickets for a post rock concert. I didn't expect nothing but then the lights turned off and these maniacs went on stage. Four guitars, one drumset and the sound of my life! You guys are really awesome and unique!
For everyone's information, the animal on the cover picture is a Tasmanian Tiger or Thylacine. They once lived all over Tasmania, but were hunted to extinction by farmers "protecting" their animals. The last Thylacine died in captivity in 1936 at a zoo in Hobart, which is terribly sad.
I think the cover is beautiful in that it epitomises a bond between man and animal, but it is also a stark reminder of the fragility that exists between humans and nature. It does not take much for us to cause irreparable damage to the environment and the creatures that live in it. We all have a responsibility to this world. We are not the owners, we are the caretakers. All wise people understand this.

Maybe I'm not wise enough, but I see ourselves as a part of nature, not the guardians or anything. We don't know how the environment is supposed to evolve, and it's not the first time that some species cause the extinction of an other one.
If anything, I think that we contribute to that evolution, and whether it is going in a good or a bad way, it's up to everyone to have their own idea on this phenomenon. I have no ideology to defend in this regard.
It doesn't mean that I am happy with how things are going, but I just can't pretend to know how they should go.

Don't get ur hopes up too much, there's plenty of blurry bigfoot, ghost and alien vids as well. In today's clickbait era there's easy profit to be made from pseudoscience and conspiracy theory gullibility.

In case any of you are unfamiliar with their work, the group We Lost the Sea is also really, really good post-rock out of Australia (if I'm remembering correctly). Check out their album "Departure Songs"...so good. It just builds and builds and builds oh so gloriously.
None of the mentioned bands/albums are as melancholic/deep as this one is in my opinion... hard to find
Dude, Departure Songs is such an amazing album! It's almost like you can feel Shaw drown.
We Lost the Sea is a an excellent band, and while A Gallant Gentleman is one of the best post-rock songs out there, it would feel very out-of-place on a Kokomo album.
I discovered it a couple of days ago. We Lost the Sea - Departure songs is on repeat ever since. Awesome concept. If you read the description, the album is a tribute to individuals who contributed to humanity. Deep and awesome.

I am glad I found this group. I always loved this type of music but never got to truly know the genre. This album opened doors to many other great bands, such as 'laura' and 'If these trees could talk'.

but it gratifies me instantly...but i agree that people aren´t ready for the depth this music brings...going deep in your feelings and not ony happy feeling which want to be expressed as well and not grow in the dark and develop to a tumor
I've been chilling out hard af to this, Mogwai's "Atomic", and Explosions in the Sky's "The Wilderness" for the last couple of hours while working on assignments. I'm examining the anatomical boundaries of various head and neck nodal groups, comparing the benefits of various radiation treatment methods for cancers of the head, neck, and brain, and generally gettin' my science on. It just feels super, super epic with this post-rock and experimental sound going on.
Also, the sound of this album coupled with the picture of the album art reminds me, for some reason, of the opening scenes of Dante Alighieri's "The Inferno" with the she-wolf coming for Dante but Virgil leading him safely in to hell (ironic?) instead. Maybe I'm weird. Probably I'm weird. Yup. :o)

Way to go on the cancer research, good luck. I think there is suppression of information on curing cancer though. I saw on a TV show about 30 years ago a black and white film of sound waves making cancer cells blow up and disintegrate. I remember hearing from the Paul Harvey Show I believe that the University of Virginia cured cancer in lab mice in the year 1974 with cannabis.....THC, not CBD.

A Kokomo album is like eating really spicy food - it kinda hurts you inside but you always want more ......
And no nasty side effect of diarrhoea afterwards. Usually.
