She speaks so well. I love her take on things when it comes to athletes vs affiliates. I was lucky enough to do a session run by her and Chris in Texas and it was awesome, they explained things so well…
Oh my goodness i cannot believe they still wanted you to do the internship, you are clearly more than capable and talented enough to be on the seminar staff!!!
Credit to Pedro for this interview but man this was a hard one to get through with Caroline rambling. Requiring all box spaces be redesigned to be laid out the same way such as rig placement is actual insanity. Caroline forgets that the CrossFit is an affiliate model not a franchise, therefore it is in the business model to let the gyms run how they prefer. Her ideas in this interview are so shortsighted and only cater to the elites without regard to the rest of the 99.9% in the community. The fact of the matter is CrossFit doesn’t need to solicit feedback from anyone regarding their event. Athletes choose to sign up for the games season. In my eyes this sport is no different than signing up for a triathlon. You pay a fee to enter in the event but are nothing more than a participant. So if you don’t like it, don’t sign up. And if you don’t sign up, shut up. Imagine if CrossFit changed the Games winner’s cash prize to a Crossfit affiliate startup package ( L1 and L2, 1 year affiliation fee, affiliation application fee, Rogue gym startup package). Maybe we’d have more games athletes like the Panchiks that own affiliates and contribute more to the CrossFit community than some of the other top games athletes.
If you want a standard floor plan for the professionals during The Open, then the professionals should provide it for themselves. They are professionals, and what have the affiliates done for the athletes anyway?
In all honesty as an Affiliate owner I cant see how affiliates owe Games athletes anything? That makes zero sense. The magic happens inside the affiliate. Prioritising/accommodating a mere 1% of athletes(who would really not be much in the first place if it weren't for fans/members in affiliates), at the expense of so many countless lives that have been changed in boxes, just doesn't make sense. This narrative and shift away from what actually happens inside boxes vs "the unhappy pro" could damage a really special thing we have going.
I got more people training in my small northern Canada town affiliate than there are CrossFit games athletes. What am I supposed to owe thoes clown? You want more money? Open an affiliate and coach 8 hours a day. I don’t owe you anything.
39:44 talk about the most selfish completely disconnected selfish thing to say. When has a games athlete ever thanked the affiliates in interviews? Or even mentioned them? This chick literally runs an affiliate and doesn’t realize her husband wouldn’t have the platform he has without the affiliates
no, it's the sponsors. Now that it depends on affiliates, the games will shrivel and dry up. it was never about the affiliates. Affiliates were the marks. "We care about affiliates" was a lie Greg told to keep the money coming in. HQ did nothing for gyms.
@@BananaDanceMan you are so off base with this comment, maybe, just maybe you should go listen to Greg talk a little more. One way Greg cared more about the affiliates and has stated numerous times, is he would have NEVER raised the Affiliate fees. Might want to do a little more research before making statements like this.
@@whitneydavis1344 I was an affiliate owner. I was here since 2009. 2x (team) Games athlete. Reebok paid for the Games. Been to many "summits", heard 100 talks from Greg in person. *Greg is huckster*. They never did a thing for us. Wait...we got a Christmas card every year. Gonna have to de-program you Scientologists.

Well said.

Ms. Lambrey kinda off base when comparing to other sports. I don't think she realizes the pile of money these other groups have.
I think the only people who want to “Professionalize” CF are the games athletes, the Affiliates don’t care nor benefit from the professional athletes
I love the standard floor plan for gyms with elites competing
