Cold Chisel are an AMAZING Australian band. I first saw them at Cloudland in 1980 when I was 19. Saw them 2 weeks ago at their 50th Anniversary Tour concert in Brisbane and the concert was unbelievable. I have never been to a concert where every concert goer sang out loud to every song ( well almost every song). EPIC band ❤
My first concert when I was about 13 was Cold Chisel Ringside Tour in the early 2000s with my Dad. Still the best I've been to. Chisels were brought to the US in 81 but their tour was so mismanaged they basically trashed a record executives' office then headed home. "You Got Nothing I Want" was written as their middle finger to the US record labels. Glad the algorithm brought me to this channel, keep it up!
I agree, you don't have to answer to the 'downers'...love your genuine appreciation of our Aussie artists...I have subscribed and look forward to you discovering our Aussie legends...lots more in that rabbit hole 😊
They are great, aren't they? Lead on this tune is Ian Moss, singer and guitarist. Jimmy Barnes with back up vocals also sounds incredible, as always. Phil Small on bass, Don Walker on keys and Steve Prestwich RIP on drums (who passed on 16th January 2011). The added brilliance of the harmonica just makes this so special, and that was Dave Blight. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Cold Chisel has been my favourite band since i first hear them blasting from my brothers bedroom at 11yrs old 40 years ago. Cant imagine a world without their music. Loved your reaction. You obviously enjoy great music.
Don’t worry about those haters mate, they probably only watched that one reaction, for those of us that have been following your journey into Australian Pub Rock know what you are really about, keep up the great reactions.😊
The best music of that era. Aussie bands were the best we had such a glorious time back in the day. Cold Chisel with Mossy and Barnsy my favs. Top band ❤
The band the American music executives didn't want. If your checking out Australian music and I think you like what I like then, check out Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs. The song Mama is a good start, very raw rock.
Im happy to anyone new to aussie rock .enjoying themselves as many other aussies will be .enjoy we had some great music over the years.daddy cool , john farnham, bee gees ,olivier newton john, marcia hines .just to name a few
So glad you loved it. Bands didn't come to Australia back in the day, so local bands played live gigs to get exposure (hence the term, "pub rock") then sold albulms locally off the back of that. It gave Australian music a very unique style and also meant that a heap of really talented artists did not get shared with the rest of the world. Happy to share them with you now though! Try Cold Chisel's live cover of "Wild Thing", or their performance of "When the War is Over" from this same concert (ringside, 2003). After that look for the Black Sorrows and the Angels - I promise you will not be dissapointed! thanks matey, PS I subbed
Excited to see you react to this particular song and performance. They are the best rock band ever in my opinion. They have two lead singers Jimmy Barnes mane Ian Moss who’s also great with the guitar. Please check out “when the war is over” next from this same concert Ringside 2003.
Screw the idiots mate! You just enjoy the music we grew up here in OZ in a fantastic era for us. It's just a pleasure to see others like yourself appreciate the tunes we loved!
Great reaction… love a genuine reaction to our Aussie rock… we are so proud of our bands… there are too many superficial characters too quick to share the hate… be yourself, enjoy our music, keep up the great work! Thank you!
Thanks. It's like a whole new world. I've been overwhelmed with suggestions of other Aussie bands, I can't even keep track. I'm hoping y'all might hear some of the more obscure songs by U.S. bands. I like to play something beyond all the hits and popular stuff that got neglected over the years. So much forgotten music, so little time.
Ignore the idiots - it's very obvious you're here for the music. The Chisel rabbit hole is still plenty deep. but I think you need to check out some early Midnight Oil. You're probably aware of them from their Beds are Burning single that broke over there, but they had more than a decade of brilliance behind them by then. Watching them live is the only way to appreciate the beast of a band they were and their live video from Goat Island 'Oils in Water' is one of best of all time. Every track from this gig was great but maybe start with; 'Power and the Passion' th-cam.com/video/Gqa1vWiqxEo/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=Skitizen 'Stand in Line' th-cam.com/video/4c3X0OlVjuE/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=Skitizen 'Only the Strong' th-cam.com/video/IWFjvgxE8Ig/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=Skitizen
i have seen every member of cold chisel doing solo shows. I have even seen Don Walker with Ian Moss with Phil Small and Dave Blight on Harmonica doing a gig together. But I've never seen Cold Chisel live
In Australia, we call haters, "d**kheads. Keep enjoying Chisel...they will never disappoint. I would love to see you do a live version of their cover of "Knocking on Heaven's Door. If not, One Long Day. As for Chisel, its not your fault that they attract likes and are one of the best live bands ever...Chisel are to blame for being that good...
Love the music. If you like great live performances, you can never go wong with Chise. Another great one from Down Under is the Teskey Brothers. Blues rock. Own songs. Rain, the circle session is phenomenal, as is their live Hold Me at the Forum. Recent great are London Bridge, Oceans of Emotions and Remember the time from their number 1 album Winding Way. It one Ozzie music award in 23 also. I got to see them twice in 23. Fantastic vives. Everyone singing also. Worth a reaction, definitely.
👍 for not interrupting the video. I was at this concert, but I didn't appreciate as I should have. A very early start for work meant I was struggling to stay awake even with Chisel rocking out. There are 2 main Chisel concerts shown on YT. Last Stand was recorded in 1983 before they broke up for the 1st time. It was characterised by the amount of alcohol Jimmy Barnes was going through. 2003's Ringside tour had the band more mature and sober. There was also new arrangements for some of the songs making them a bit more refined.
Front man on guitar - Ian Moss, screamer - Jimmy Barnes. Both front men have their own solo careers. Australia's got a depth of talent across most styles of music. Hope you're enjoying the trip.
Thank you for your reaction. As far as negative feedback is concerned, I guess that most TH-cam content providers receive some, even those who are long-established and very popular. You have the power to react (to the negative stuff) as you see fit, or not act at all.

Correct, their 81 tour of the US was horrendously mismanaged. Their biggest gig that they got booked for was opening for Ted Nugent and the crowd was not their scene at all.
Man, don't worry about the people who are giving you grief; you do you. This is the second video I have watched of yours and I really enjoy your laid-back style. I have subbed and turned the bell black. I am going to accept your invitation to go and look at your back catalogue, as obscure sounds really interesting. More power to you man, you react to whatever you feel like, that's the deal of a reactor channel; you make content, and we watch it ... or don't watch it ... depending on your engagement and content. Some like it, some don't. Do not take that personally as the haters aren't really hating on you, they are, more often than not, hating on many channels, it's just their thing.

Hey there, just found your channel and it seems pretty cool, definitely going to check out some of your back catalogue. I can't imagine why anyone wants to put someone down for listening to something new to them. Anyone can see you're enjoying this, it's very obvious and no one is that good an actor, lol. Thanks. I definitely can't act, even if I wanted to. This is just a little weird-ass channel, just kind of hanging out in my kitchen playing some tunes. I've made sure I don't make any money off the channel so I don't have to worry if something is popular. It has gotten me into trouble 'cause if I listen to something that sucks, I say it sucks. Reaction channels aren't supposed to do that. I just love music and hope other people like the deep cuts and obscure music I like to play.
It is never disrespectful, to listen and learn about somebody elses story, to educate youtself, find out about things you didn't know about before. I was at The Ringside in Sydney as a 22yr old with a bunch of my mates.....we grew up to Chisel thru our parents just like u with urs
In the 80's Australian pub rock bands were plentiful and really good.
