Is there a way to simply decouple a single clip from remote grades, as opposed to copying remote to local for all clips? For example, if I wanted to desaturate a single clip? Or is best practie to just copy remote to local once you're sure you have everything the way you want it?
Lol I always did this with Groups and was wondering why there wasn't an option to just apply a grade to all clips that have the same source. Especially when using the Cut Page for Multicam this gets anoying realy fast. Super helpfull video, thanks!
Thank you for this tutorial! It Really helpes me fasting my workflow. I just have a quick query can you please figure it out? I began my primaries with Remote version Then for my shot matching and particular adjustment I switched back to Local one. So how can I switch back to my previous remote grade if needed? If I choose 'use remote grades' it will removed all my grades. What is the best method to switch back and forth?
Remote grades are specifically designed to work on all clips from the same source. You don't have to copy to local. You can save a still, switch to local, reveal the node tree from the still, and copy just the nodes you want. Thanks, Mark! Now for matching two different Sony cameras in Slog 2 (FS7 & FS5) for Multicam narrative editing. Is there a good tutorial on Multicam for narrative? Meaning we shot with two cameras and want to build the performances from multiple cameras a multiple takes? Thank you, Sir
thumbnails in your timeline, in color, auto updates any change you make... how do you enable this? In my system i have to do it manually (Right click and then update manually)
I heard professionals use remote grade for movie where they do one grade for digital distribution and another grade for cinema projector like DCI p3 color science. can u do a tutorial about that, explaining the workflow?
I don't know why i dont have those (R) under, it's just blank and i somehow can't connect similar clips (those pink icon right down) I don't have it either :/
it is good but also a pain. is it right to say you cant use remote grade on only your selected clips? and when you say copy to local it replaces all of the grades with the remote grade? wish they made it more clip specific.

Oh. What if i have 5-10 groups of remoted (referenced with same source) clips, and 2-3 individual clips on timeline, so i notice that if i using remote mode, changing color for all of this references linked clips, and i am going to individual edit one of the referenced clip, so - just copying remote to local, using local mode now, edit this clip. And imagine just after this i keep working on timeline, may add some new shots, or maybe i change my mind and want to different edit on the other groups. So i click on the "copy remote to local" again, and my others individual clips with individual setting just erased and replaced by remote settings - and that happens on all timeline. Thats pretty annoying feature, beacuse all of yours individual settings in local mode on referenced clips just erased after you change your discission or keep working on last part of timeline. Yeah i know, for this situation i can use grab still and transfer setting in this way - so, than i don't need remote mode anymore, because my technique works well without a hitch.
the explanation was brilliantly done.
Nice! So many things I don't know after using Resolve for years. This will be useful when I'm using the same clip in several different timelines.
nice. yet another feature I hadn't ever noticed or used. I so the magic of Resolve. Thanks for the explanation, Mark
Thanks heaps, was completely baffled by this concept until, just now!
Best explanation I found! Awesome thank you
Thanks for this Mark. So helpful for a pro-editor come DaVinci noob like me. Cheers
Well explained! Thank you!
This saved me a ton of time!
Helped alot. Thank you, sir
Mind blown!!! This is going to be saving me sooooo much time going forward. Thanks guys!!!
SUSCRIBED, Thanks a lot for this tutorial.

For this particular case I would simply put saturation 0 on adjustement layer on top of your clip.
@@XRaym fancy seeing you here!
@@LetsTalkAboutReaper Haha ! I only answered because I saw it was you 😅

Excellent my friend, thank you very much, you saved me tons of time!
Thanks so much! this is awsome! soo much time saver!
How to exclude the logo when you make color grading? I don't want to change logo colors
Wow... doing a grade and the thumbnail on the timeline updates? Apple could learn a thing or two.
Really hard to beat Resolve at the color grading game - That's why they are still the standard.

You can use version. Command Y on a Mac to create a new version. And Command N, to navigate forward on your versions and Command B, backwards.
@@fco1371 Yes good point - I discuss both local and remote versions in detail in our Warp Speed Grading in Resolve tutorial
