Same. There was just nothing new or interesting about this. By the numbers is a good way to put it. I thought about stopping it about 45minutes from the end but I just wanted to get through it, because I know I’ll never watch it again. I would say it was really inoffensive. Everybody lives! But ultimately mediocre.
I was hoping for so much more.
Esta película mezcla la comedia y el terror con maestría.....logrando un resultado divertido y aterrador a partes iguales......Si bien la película ofrece algunas situaciones aterradoras, algunos de los efectos especiales se ven obsoletos lo que resta algunas de las escenas de suscitar miedo en difinitiva Vacaciones de Terror se ha convertido en todo un clásico del cine mexicano de finales de los 80 gracias a la manera en que René Cardona III jugó con los tropos del cine de terror estadounidense aderezándolos con la idiosincrasia mexicana.....gracias por el vídeo un abrazo....
I actually preferred the sequel a lot more, but you can see the Hollywood convention ms within these films which make them rather interesting.

100% correct this film could have been better. But I still kind of liked it. I don't know that I would ever watch it again. I couldn't recommend it to anyone. But still I didn't hate it. The second one is more campy and it does make it more entertaining. But it's a bit so so too. It's a 2 star set. But I'm kind of glad VS put it out. I like seeing these Mexican horror films even if they aren't the best.
Yeah I’m with you there. I think if I was picking one of these to rewatch it would be the second one for sure, it was just more fun.
Really enjoyed both but part 2 has a nice Halloween time feel.
I much preferred 2 I loved the effects.

Vacation of Blandness would be more appropriate.
My thoughts on the sequel are a bit more conflicted. On a technical level it’s so crude it’s almost quite charming. The practical effects are so terrible that it looks like it was a movie made by kids on Super 8mm. vibe. I know that sounds really patronising but I’m trying hard to be positive.
Plus Julio & his mullet/ponytail are back for more.
You pretty much nailed my review for the sequel.
No matter how crude practical effects are they’re somehow charming. I liked the goofy witch more than the doll!
@@manvfilm sooooo so many elements that made me giggle. The little sister being dragged along the ground by an unknown force looking like she was lying on a skateboard or the big sister shrinking?!? You couldn’t tell the difference between the movie ‘Special’ FX & the Halloween costumes at the party. The witch was hilarious & I almost choked laughing at the transformation scene under the diorama table.
Despite all the technical issues it was quite endearing and I wish there were further adventures of Julio & his mystical battles against evil.
Julio was such a great character. He had that quality that just made me want to see more adventures of his.
Yeah the effects aren’t the most polished but I still would rather have those than any CG.
Gotta agree, very meh.
