Kobe is probably the best talk show guest ever. There are never any awkward moments, he’s charming, polite, respectful, hilarious, energetic, knows how to articulate himself well, and is just a wealth of knowledge. I loved watching his post-retirement guest appearances and interviews the most because he was so happy and always sharing stories about his family or memorable moments from his Lakers career. It’s bitter sweet watching them now just knowing how genuinely happy he was and how much excitement he had for the future, then to have his life cut short so abruptly... I feel like I can’t get through one of these without crying now... sigh. It’s not hard to see why the world is mourning as hard as they are over his death, even after so many weeks have passed. Just watching Kobe on TV, on the court and in countless interviews over the last 20 years, you really feel like you’ve gotten to know him on a personal level with just the way he carries himself. God, I’m going to miss him. This one will forever hurt.

And you are totally right, he seemed so happy and at peace being with his girls and moving on from basketball. Feel lucky that i was alive to watch him play his whole career, but so terribly sad for his family who not only lost him, but also GG, who was just starting her life. It's just so unfair.

What makes his passing so hard to accept is that there wasn't any self-destructive behaviour in him. Kobe was at the happiest point of his life when he died so unexpectedly. What makes the whole event incredibly sad was that his daughter he couldn't stop talking about died with him, and that 7 other people died with them who all have loved ones whose lives dramatically changed overnight. Jan 26, 2020 was the time when the news just couldn't stop getting worse.

    • @10aridg
      @10aridg 4 ปีที่แล้ว +39

B Miles you think flying in a helicopter is a self destructive behavior? People fly in helicopters ALL THE TIME and nothing goes wrong. Nothing is supposed to go wrong. It’s just as “self destructive” to get in a freaking car. There’s always a chance something can go wrong, but you can’t just do nothing in life because of that chance..you still have to do things. If anything, his decision to fly in a helicopter for years was because he valued time with his family and didn’t want to spend hours and hours of precious time traveling through LA traffic

I am pretty sure kobe did not force the guy to fly. probably was misled to believe it was ok by the pilot. it is not that the pilot himself was bad but a lot of people who have done their jobs for a long time get over confident and ignore risk. It was just another day and the where they took off did not have as fog issue. If anything this incident should tell everyone is not to live your life in anyone's hand. Even though you are a celebrity still look at weather reports, read the news make sure nothing is going on where you are heading to and make sure you are safe.

ok this might sound strange to you at first, but stay with me for a second:
I actually think Jimmy's "fake laugh" is his genuine reaction. Jimmy is just not the kind of guy who really bursts out into loud laughter. (you know, like a James Corden kinda laugh) But when someone does a joke that was funny, but not as funny so you're dying in laughter, then it would be really weird to just have him sit there and giggle/laugh quietly and it would also really take the energy out of a conversation. so he tries to get some more reaction out of himself, which is often seen as his "fake laugh" .

    Ugh this is so heartbreaking
-Won’t be able to walk his girls down the aisle
-Has a 3 year old and a 7 month old who will probably barely remember their daddy and their sister
-Won’t get to celebrate wedding anniversaries
-Natalias 17th birthday was like 2 weeks ago and she lost her daddy and sister
Like holy shit there are so many other sad things/milestones I am just so upset. No one even could every expect that those holidays spent together were their last.
Can the FAA please mandate the instrumentation necessary to navigate in heavy fog now please so no one has to go through this again!?
RIP to everyone on board. Such a tragedy.

Probably a blessing he didn't have a son. The pressure on that kid would be miserable.

Scott Adams but that’s the point tho like the pressure on him is a lot. That’s why every all time great’s son isn’t nearly as good as them

It’s so incredibly sad. It’s heartbreaking that his youngest won’t remember him or their sister. As an Auntie it breaks my heart. My brother was killed when my nephew was 18 months old. My sister in law was pregnant with my niece at the time. She never met her dad and my nephew doesn’t remember my brother. We try to keep his memory alive and talk about him to them in a sensitive way. It’s very tough though, I want to talk about him all the time but I don’t want to upset anyone. My thoughts are with Vanessa and all of their girls at this very tough time ❤️❤️❤️

@@taken_down_account4977 that comment referred to the tense of the verb "to go" as in whenever he goes (implying he still can). It didn't age well since, well, RIP Kobe #8 #24
