Pretty Nifty! Quick tip: 3:05 - don't ever do what you just did. Pass it through the hole in the center of the grommet - that's what it's there for. By passing it through the side like that you let the wire rub on the sharp metal edge that the grommet sits in. Over time that will rub through and short out. Ask me how I know this -_-.
Couldn't help but notice at 3:05 the wire should probably be ran through the grommet instead of next to it which could potentially cause a short. Anyways that 4th brake light red/white switchback led looks great!
Did your red wire connect to the reverse light bulb socket easily? Mine doesn't seem to be going in all the way or I'm putting it the wrong way but both ways i tried it wont go all the way through. No contact being made I think so that's why the red light wont come on, white light works great tho.
So if I want to do the fourth brake light kit only, without the sequencers, do I need to connect to both tail lights or just the driver side to the reverse light??? Awesome video. Thanks.
5:10 It would be cool as well if the brake light that is on the spoiler/top of the rear window (I cant tell from the angle) was also sequential, Like when you press the brake it starts off in the middle and then spreads outwards. Otherwise its looking good matt!
Hey subaruwrxfan nice video on the Diode Dynamics for your 2015 mustang, although this is totally different, I really liked how you decorated your garage with the number plates.
Hey thanks for putting up this vid, it certainly helped me a lot install on a 16 GT Prem. I have a problem and was wondering if u had the same thing happen. When I put on the left turn signal, the 4th brake light also blinks, the right blinker side is perfectly fine and works as it should. Everything else works as designed. The 4th light comes on when braking, reverse white light still comes on when in Reverse and tail lights sequence when braking, just that left blinker makes the 4th brake light blink in sequence with the blinker lights lol.
Hey Matt , u need to reno your garage , make it a car enthusiast dream car garage , paint the floor , add somr cabinets , add some car posters etc.... and record a video about it
hey matt, in a couple months, feb, to be exact i am getting my first car, and i have money to buy a used 2015 mustang, but i cannot make up my mind if i should buy a ecoboost premium, or a regular v6 (i know there is only the base model) so i was hoping you could give me your input, it may help to know that i can only get an automatic since i do have to share the car a few times a month, i am 17 by the way, almost 18, so if you could please help me pick i would really be greatful. (if anybody else wants to help i would appreciate)
+Richard Barcellos Congrats on having the money for a 2015 Mustang Richard! It all depends what you like. If the premium features are important or appreciated then the ecoboost is obviously the only way to go. The V6 is a great option too, and I think it actually sounds better than the ecoboost too. If you plan to keep the car stock or very mildly modified I think the V6 is the more reliable engine in the long term. The ecoboost engine is more complicated with it's turbo and direct injection, but it does get better fuel economy and is very cheap and easy to get more power out of it with a tune. Can't go wrong with either though. I'd just watch my reviews on the V6 and EcoBoost and see which one sounds like the engine you'd like more. The V6 loves to be revved and doesn't have much punch down low but has a nice top end. The EcoBoost has tons of power down low but doesn't have much up top. So it's really just personal preference in that regard. Good luck in your decision!
What is the legality with this? I don't know your state's laws and inspection/registration process but I thought reverse lights had to be white. I could see someone doing this and then failing inspection because the reverse light is now red.
Oops my bad, didn't make it all the way through the video when I commented...Anyways, keep the videos coming!...By the way, I think it would be cool if you could do a series on shop/tuners in your area and neighboring states. Just a video talking to owners & mechanics, seeing some sweet builds, and showing the youtubers (i.e. potential customers) some shops they may be interested in bringing their car to.
I definitely like the sequencer, but I don't really understand the 4th brake light. Just kinda seems redundant to have 4 brake lights and another running light.
Tat2Dragons Have you ever driven behind one of these? The brake lights are as bright as the sun. I literally have to look away from mine when I pop the trunk because it flashes the brake lights and they're so bright. It just seems redundant to me.
I couldn't help but notice the amount of rust under the car (ie the exhaust pipes). Very surprised for a car that I assume is only around a year old...
+jemibanez The only thing that is really rusted is those small links connecting exhaust to differential. He was driving it at winter, and exhaust pipes are not stainless, so they are surprisingly clean.
So whats the point of this feature? No benefits. Maybe if I watch it again I will understand? Just my own opinion of course, but makes the turn signals less effective to those around you and adds a "cheap" factor to the car. More problems to diagnose too once lights and wiring begin to fail.
February actually I had a flat about 2 months ago haha, luckily i was 2 turns away from my house and i had run-flat tires. But yeah, next time i'll just utilize my roadside assistance.
FoolishTuning I guess that works. I once got a flat tire and drove almost 10 miles on 0 psi. Of course the tire was ruined, but I was glad I had a donut. Got me home!
+Verik's S2000 Even though it's an option - if you have a performance pack car you can't even order the $160 optional spare since it won't be tall enough to go around the brembo rotors ;-) and oh, by the way the stock P-Zero tires are run-flats and are junk to start with so run flats might be considered for my next set of tires....
Your stang screams "MERICA" more and more everyday... Love it.
that sequencer looks so awesome!! I'm really enjoying all the new additions to the Mustang Matt.
Thanks Dave!
Pretty Nifty!

COOL Diode Dynamics 4th Brake Light and Tail Light Sequencer Install
Couldn't help but notice at 3:05 the wire should probably be ran through the grommet instead of next to it which could potentially cause a short. Anyways that 4th brake light red/white switchback led looks great!
Yeah, I also noticed that, and I agree with you. :)
+Bigshows93 he installed it the same way Diode Dynamics does in their install video
+Tony Mutschler That's a shame, one would hope that a company would know that it's not the correct way.
In case you were wondering, the Raxiom sequencer daisy chains into this flawlessly. I'm using this setup right now.
Did your red wire connect to the reverse light bulb socket easily? Mine doesn't seem to be going in all the way or I'm putting it the wrong way but both ways i tried it wont go all the way through. No contact being made I think so that's why the red light wont come on, white light works great tho.

Hello does the reverse brake stay on red when you turn on your headlights? Thanks 🚙
5:10 It would be cool as well if the brake light that is on the spoiler/top of the rear window (I cant tell from the angle) was also sequential, Like when you press the brake it starts off in the middle and then spreads outwards. Otherwise its looking good matt!
+Ethan Gee Thanks! That would be a cool idea!
Knight Rider ;)
+Ethan Gee or one of those breaklights that flash really fast a few times, and then flash slowly, and then its just red.
Have you considered the Ford racing rear trunk panel
looks a little more exotic
matt, this looks amazing and diode dynamics has always been my source for led upgrades too!
Looks very cool. nice add on
Hey subaruwrxfan nice video on the Diode Dynamics for your 2015 mustang, although this is totally different, I really liked how you decorated your garage with the number plates.
looks great on your car Matt!!
Its got that 68 California Special Look. I like it.
I really like the sequencer it gives the car a more premium look.
Hey thanks for putting up this vid, it certainly helped me a lot install on a 16 GT Prem. I have a problem and was wondering if u had the same thing happen. This looks awesome, your mustang is really coming together good Matt!
Hey does any one know when that tune from Ford comes out for the mustang?
Never stop making videos. I love every single one. Keep it up Matt :-)
+GustavLjungberg Thank you :)
@subaruwrxfan Since im assuming half the LEDs are red now is the light output dim compared to the other LED or the stock bulb?
+oONoChanc3Oo No surprisingly it seems just as bright as the standalone LED bulb. And the stock bulb was much dimmer than both and yellowish.
+subaruwrxfan Good to hear! Diode dynamics gets great praise on the st forum as well. Definitely will pick some up for my st.
The red LED color doesn't seem deep enough to match the other lights, kind of a faded out red. Is it that noticeable in person?
It's not as noticeable in person.
Love Ford! Damn, this dude is gorgeous.
hey subaruwrxfan i watch your vids alot you have good info. i wanted to ask you your opinion. whats the quickest car you've tested for under 20k?
I just checked out their website, they have some pretty cool items, also nice video!!
Will it fit on my Honda?
I did something similar on my wrx called (tail as turn signal module) haha it was similar install!
@Subaruwrxfan not going to lie bro not big on mustangs, but yours is really clean and I love the color. Great job. 👍
I looked at diod site but they're extremely limited for my Grand Cherokee
Hey Matt , u need to reno your garage , make it a car enthusiast dream car garage , paint the floor , add somr cabinets , add some car posters etc.... and record a video about it
Haha that would be cool, maybe the next house. We don't plan to stay here too long, I need more than a 1 car garage lol.
It looks really NicE

I hope you bought the ecoboost
Isn't the ''fourth brake light'' the rear fog light??
Do you have any coupon codes for those guys?? They have some cool stuff I would want to buy. Let me know.
Very clean, looks awesome!
What is the legality with this? I don't know your state's laws and inspection/registration process but I thought reverse lights had to be white. I could see someone doing this and then failing inspection because the reverse light is now red.
+Matt Rupp The reverse light is still white like I show in the video.
Oops my bad, didn't make it all the way through the video when I commented...Anyways, keep the videos coming!...By the way, I think it would be cool if you could do a series on shop/tuners in your area and neighboring states. +Matt Rupp Yo is that your car in the profile picture?
+thetrickster2590 Mitsubishi Evo 9
***** Yes it was, sold it about a year ago
Reminds me of a similar mod for the BRZ
I definitely like the sequencer, but I don't really understand the 4th brake light. Just kinda seems redundant to have 4 brake lights and another running light.
What is there to understand? It's just a mod that can make your vehicle more noticeable to those driving behind you.
Tat2Dragons Have you ever driven behind one of these? The brake lights are as bright as the sun. I literally have to look away from mine when I pop the trunk because it flashes the brake lights and they're so bright. It just seems redundant to me.
xScoobyDoo82x
Yes I have and they're bright. I guess it could be considered redundant to some.
No you didn't just pass that wire on the outside of the grommet...
Sick lighting setup
I like it a lot! I had a new Mustang I'd do that too! Thanks for sharing!
Love this feature!!
Thanks bro...You made my day!
Looks pretty good
Haha you say subaruwrxfan sooooo fast!! Bravo
I couldn't help but notice the amount of rust under the car (ie the exhaust pipes). Very surprised for a car that I assume is only around a year old...

This is great. I love it.
Why do you still have the stock exhaust?!?! Get something, eco's are far 2 quite stock!
I really like it!
Looks great!
That 4th tail light would look pretty sweet if the lens was RED. But I know that's not legal.
can always put some red vinyl over it
Braden McHenry I think it would look cool but then no one would know your backing up.
+Braden McHenry if you put red vinyl over it, then you won't have a reverse light anymore.
So whats the point of this feature? No benefits. Maybe if I watch it again I will understand? Just my own opinion of course, but makes the turn signals less effective to those around you and adds a "cheap" factor to the car. More problems to diagnose too once lights and wiring begin to fail.
Wtf all that rust in a car that not even a year old
+VaZeTron Chinese metal, the reason why cars don't last as long nowadays
+xXDaMasta18Xx look at the under of the car
love it
No spare? Hahah my friend, you like to live dangerously.
The new Mustang has a Spare Tire as an option, so I didnt buy it either for my ecoboost, waste of money in my opinion.
+FoolishTuning I hope you never have a flat, bro!
February actually I had a flat about 2 months ago haha, luckily i was 2 turns away from my house and i had run-flat tires. But yeah, next time i'll just utilize my roadside assistance.

you need a subaru
Great!!
"star bolt pattern" = torx screw
you're welcome. lol :)
FIRST! That other guy is a liar. LEL.
+killersushi99 HAHAH That's awesome.
