      @@basshead. While true, SeaSonic goes the extra Mile to provide the Case for it. And at that point, people choose between messing with a big box or a dozen plus wires. I highly doubt your average person is going to want to mess with wires at all, and would prefer a big box, which SeaSonic already provides an answer to. Hell, I'm still thinking about going this solution, because I hate wires, myself. XD The only thing I'm holding off on, is seeing what the final product looks like. And that's only because I'm going Custom Loop here, with external Water Cooling.

    I think going from water cooling to air cooling might be interesting. If you only put 2 fans in the roof over the GPU, the air from the front would go farther and assist the CPU air cooler. Hope you do a follow up video trying this out as I really enjoyed it when you went over both cooling options in a previous video. Caution: peel necessitates applying strong steady force to effect smooth and appealing peel. Remove transportation clamp before peeling. Recommend peeling after building. I get the feeling its meant to be an air cooling case, a big air cooler on the CPU and no fans in the roof I would guess would be a good setup for it. Or even moving some of the intake fans to the roof would be interesting as it is filtered, would make for some interesting thermal testing.

    Thank you, Leo. That's a lot of ackers to spend to view a PC build 'upside down'! I don't like it, it doesn't 'oil my wheels', and certainly does not seem to represent any good value for the promulgated price, which equates some $750 Kiwi $. I think I'll stick with the versatility of my beloved Eclipse P600S. Thanks once again, stay well to you and your followers. Cheers, - Pat.

  • @Arashmickey

    Nice build. Asrock's high-end b550s are so nice, especially the dark blue on the Extreme4. Sleeved cables aren't that expensive, especially if you're building something that requires a 750 Watt PSU. You can get decent extensions for maybe 30-35 Pounds? Still better than flat licorice cables if you ask me. If you decide not to use the synchro you can route the sleeved cables to pass in front of the little window in the back panel :) Also, do I see a slightly deeper tray for the top panel dust filter? I'd like that, but it doesn't show on the prototype and it's hard to see whether it's there on the new version.

  • @QuentinStephens
    @QuentinStephens 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thank you. Would you say that this is a case aimed more at commercial builders than home consumers? I did notice that you mounted the AIO CPU cooler in the top - would putting it in the front have made a difference? Not only in temperatures but also in looks, perhaps covering up those cables you highlighted.
    If you do a follow-up, perhaps you could look at the performance of Nvidia's new cooler on the RTX 30 series cards in the case.

    • @KitGuruTech

    Cheers Leo, great vid.
    It's an interesting idea and quite a good execution for a first foray into cases, particularly compared to case firsts from hardware companies that should know better and case company veterans that really should know better.
    I've been waiting to see if something would be done with the Connect, I really like the concept though aesthetically in this iteration isn't as appealing. I'd be interested to see if the fella at GGF Events (sorry can't recall name right now) does a build with custom cables and water cooling, might show it in an ever more fairer light.
    Also, never really been sold on the inverted motherboard, but all in all, its a decent looking case, hope they manage to sell some to encourage them to do a revisit and/or evolve the idea.

    As much as I like the case (although I'd prefer it to not be inverted) I can't help but think that the connect itself is a solution looking for a problem, and this version of the connect module is restricted to this case only due to the front facing connectors needing cutouts. Also, could they not have just put the PSU connector on the other end of the connect unit and had this case as a normal motherboard orientation?
    I get the idea behind the intel 12vatx standard and only needing to run one cable from the PSU to the motherboard but effectively splitting a PSU into two units that need space for them seems a bit of a strange step as the only cables that are really much shorter seem to be the 24pin and PCIe supplemental power.
    Finally, the price... It's a nice case but to pay almost twice as much as another decent case and PSU for this would make a straight up non starter for me.

    Thanks for the report but this box doesn't stand a chance without water and rigid pipes...Lian, Fractal & Phanteks smash it to bits... All $240 US dollars buys you is 4 noisy obnoxious fans and a connect hub.

  • @CalgarGTX
    @CalgarGTX 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    For me the main point of reverted ATX is the GPU exhausting hot air towards the top, following the laws of physics, instead of spilling hot air everywhere inside the case and messing up every other airflow going on.
    Ofc that implies you have a GPU with fans exhausting air instead of pushing it in the GPU fins... which it turns out mine does 🤡
    Also I don't know why but the fans that came with mine are terribly noisy even tho every single reviews says they are supposedly good ones. Terrible grating jet engine noise at any % PWM and oscillations even at 12% PWM, really no way to shut them up. I'm in the process of swapping them for 140mm noctuas.

      About what I expected considering the included power supply.

    • @ShneekeyTheLost

      Keep in mind that includes a new model 12V PSU with the connect module being the converter rather doing the conversions in the PSU. They don't have economics of scale on production for those yet since it is a new form factor of PSU which is (supposedly) more energy efficient. The actual case price itself without the PSU and connect module is much closer to competitors.

    Seasonic got forced to produce a case to push the seasonic connect sale....awkward psu with a separate unnecessary connect module which no one should buy............

    its open on the wrong side. its that a btx case, or atx with upside down motherboard? thats no good...the cpu heat will always hit the already ultra super heated graphics card and other cards. and no drive bays for optical drives. thats a deal breaker. where am i supposed to put my bdxl burner and bluray player?

    • @billwiley7216
      @billwiley7216 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very few current builds include optical drives anymore so that does not affect most people considering this case.
      Actually I think the heat off the CPU hitting the graphics card is less of a problem than the heat generated by current top GPU's hitting the CPU in a conventional MB layout.
      Basically the price point and it less optimal overall cooling as compared to other leading manufacturer case offerings with more features at a much lesser price point is more of the issue.
      I like the concept of the power supply distribution with shorter cables but right now it does not seem ready for prime time from a performance or being at a competitive price point as compared to other options.
      With some GPU's now requiring 3 separate power connectors I can see the distribution box cable option possibly becoming more popular in the future.
      I do like the quality of Seasonic power supplies and they are all I have used for the last 20 years.

    That´s exactly what I was thinking Mister, this case wants a liquid cooled GPU.

  • @jeantechnoir7702

    Yeah, I don't like, exterior looks seems simplistic to me, front airflow seems not ideal for a fully air cooled built and finally I really hate the inverted mobo thing.

    Normal cases have less cables visible. I don't see the point to this.

    • @Ayane13b
      @Ayane13b 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn't say less visible cables. Also, because everything is centralized, it makes all cable runs look more sorted, as apposed to cables coming from everywhere in the case.
      I'm willing to bet that this could potentially be the first case that I would want the option of having a tempered glass back panel, as well as a front panel.
      Obviously this case isn't for everyone. If you don't see the appeal of it, it's not made for you. But there's a good amount of people that want exactly what this offers, me being one of them (clearly)

      As stated in the video, the case is supplied with gloves and the front panel in particular attracts fingerprints. Cleaning down each time you move a product is a complete pain so... gloves
