Back here again. I have it sind a while now and I bought it for Design even if I tought its mind of ugly. Just like the spydiechef. Why I'm back here. Its one of my favourite knives I had so far.
Beside that I wanted to tank you for bringing me awesome content and the still best reviews out there

Thanks for the great review as always!
For this knife and a few others, like the Sebenza, new iteration of the Slysz Bowie, and lots more, you’ve mentioned they compete with other knives in their price point and are not always worth it at that price compared to their competition.
Have you done any videos where you do like your top knives at each price point, or else for such a knife, and the Sebenza for sure, what knives they would be competing with or even beat them at that price?
I know you must get millions of requests, but I’d love to hear your thoughts if you get a chance. Thanks!!!

I absolutely love this knife. Just ordered one. Should be here tomorrow. 🤟 it’s a funky knife but not in a ridiculous way. Looks killer and I really like the Elk stamp on the opposite side. Can’t wait to have this in hand.

  • @TheBDubbs3
    @TheBDubbs3 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Actually in most normal pants the swedge projection just tucks in and it really does not take up as much space as you might think. Unless you have some sort of rigid material inside your pocket, but most pockets have a flexible inner material that just shifts around the “horn” of the knife and it doesn’t fit in a pocket any worse than most other knives. Comparing the price to that of a Techno 2 is also misleading. This has way more machining (contoured vs. flat and chamfered on the techno plus the ti backspacer and all the extra detail) and a milled titanium clip vs. a wire steel clip. A fancy pivot with collar is much more than the simple screw a T2 has. Then there’s the extra milling and material on the blade that adds cost. A significant amount of detail and work went into this as compared to the rather simple details on a Techno. It is a high price, but if you really add up everything then it starts making a bit more sense. It would be nice to see Spyderco chill out with their prices but, thats also just how life is, everything goes up in price every year.

I own more spydercos than any other brand and like a lot of what they are about as a company. That said Spyderco has gotten silly with their pricing. Not just on this knife. It’s even harder to swallow when you see what vendors will sell those same knives for once they are discontinued. As long as their customer base is happy to pay ever increasing prices for functionally indistinguishable variants of pm2 s and 3s more power to them I guess.

I’m offended by the price; it’s just a Spyderco. I have many and I like them but not that much.

I’d have gotten it for $350, even $375. But over $400? I just can’t. If it were a bit bigger due to bigger hands, yes, but at that size in particular, no. I love the idea of what is more or less a steampunkish, Ti framelock Yojimbo, but I just can’t justify the price at that size to myself. I love the looks of it, and who knows if they go on sale for $375? But for now…no.

The rhino horn ruins it for me. The small size saves it a little, but then the price ruins it again.

detente, pronounced roughly 'daytaunt', a French word, not 'de tent'.

It's an odd one for sure & not something I'd spend what is equal to $650 Canadian loonies. That's absurd alone, but it's not a blade shape I like or see personal value in but certainly more power to you if it's for you!

I love this knife! I was really waiting for the Stovepipe to come out. I was ready and raring to buy. Till I found out the price. Sorry, Spyderco.

I like the knife even though it looks like they’re going for the ugliest knife contest but I think what is the major hold back as the price is ridiculous

This is a $200 knife max... Look at the ZT 0022...

I’d definitely take my grinder and belt sander to that giant toe and “yojimbo” it.

It is a Yojimbo before the nose job.
