I’m surprised Black Magic hasn’t made a device like this for the atem series switches

Wow. As someone with 3 of the ATEM mini extremes, seeing the Magewell makes me think I might want to get a director mini in the near future!

Nice features. Just out of curiosity: does it work with Air Pods with the new Bluetooth feature?I believe I saw you using them in a couple of videos.

Yes, they're on a roll! It turns out it takes more than 0 days to film edit and publish a video!

One thing i really need to find out with these DM boxes is how they perform streaming in the field. They have no sim card, and so you'd have to rely on connecting them to cellular hotspot? How would you get them connected with a reliable signal to stream when there is no internet or wifi? And how good do they work? This is the big sticking point...they cant call them portable streaming boxes if you actually can't use them when away from wired internet

The most reliable option would be to connect a USB cellular modem, or use a portable router with a SIM slot and connect that over Ethernet to the Director Mini. There are some pretty tiny routers so it's still pretty portable

@@aaronpk ok...right now I use the slate ax 1800 which is USB tethered to my phone that's running it's hotspot, so my Mevos and tablet all connect to that. But I can't get any faster than 2.4 mbps upload. Once I found a rink that had decent wifi so I turned on WiFi on the phone and not sure if it sort of bonded that to it's hotspot but it got me 3.2mbps upload....
So would the DM just connect to the same hotspot? Or do you mean then get a short Ethernet cable between the Slate Ax and the DM to go off the hotspot? Would 2.4mbps be good enough for it to stream out a solid stream?

Am curious if the PTZ feature works with used webcams like the insta360 AI 4K Webcam.
Am excited about the new HEVC Encoding, UVC output and the Producer Mode in the Web Control.

@aaronpk Would you agree with comments below that the Yolobox units are a waste of time? Better to go for the Magewell? I've seen a lot of good feedback on the Yolobox Ultra? Thoughts?

I don't think it's that clear cut, there are still a lot of differences between the two. The yolobox ultra is definitely the best yolobox they've made, and a solid upgrade from the yolobox pro. So if you need the unique features the yolobox has, I'd definitely look into that.

@@aaronpk Thank you. Appreciate your input. From a quality / robustness / realiability perspective, would you recommend Yolobox gear, in particular the Yolobox Ultra? Thats probably my main concern, functionality wise it seems to have all I need. :) Thanks again!

Magewell Director Mini is far the best in this category. I had the Yolobox mini which i send back because of lot of problem "It would look like a grocery list if i start to write them down:)" i tried the Yolobox pro and had similar issue on the field. They have let me down couple of time on paid event and i can´t tell enough how stressful that was.Technically, it doesn´t look like people at yolobox have a good understanding about their product. They did promised me to release a update about an audio issue in a week but after 3 month i lost my patience and decided to return the Mini. I have been waiting for a product like this for a long time as a one man crew:) and i am soo happy someone eventually made one. For people like me, remote control feature with your phone is luxury, I have used it for livestream wedding 4 times until now without any issues (each wedding was 7 hours long). Hope it will stay like this, that´s why i am afraid to update the last version at the moment, like they say "if something is working, don`t touch it" :)
I haven´t tried the ultra but after my experience with yololiv products, i don`t think i will take that risk again.

Yeah, Yolobox is trash both the tech and customer support. It really does feel like they don’t know at all what they’re doing.

@@bozdil7001 My sincere apologies on the experience. In situations like yours, although rare, we always want to quickly send a replacement unit so as to not negatively impact your workflow. Could you give us another chance to make this right?

@@marcusstenbeck Sincere apologies on the experience. Would you guide me through what has happened? We’d love for a second opportunity to work with you. Please advise if there is anything we can do to make this right.
