These videos are more than just seeing stores. It’s so nice to share with you and other ghouls the fun items for Halloween. Not all of us get to go see the stores so it’s a nice escape. Thank you so much for sharing! 🧡🦇🧡👻
As a minimalist, environmentalist, and a huge fan of Halloween, it's awesome to be able to stay home and live vicariously through you during these decor hunts! It actually causes me to consume less because I don't have that urge to buy something right away when I'm out in person. Plus, I don't have to worry about missing out on pieces that I truly do need/love; for example, if it weren't for these sorts of videos, I never would have found my fun witchy cannisters that I use for old pens and old batteries waiting to go to special recycling pickups. It saves me time, I don't waste gas by going out to ten different places, and I can plan my few purchases way ahead or look at alternatives and actually give purchases a good think before committing. In a weird way, decor hunting videos are actually helping me to reduce consumerism and waste! I hope you keep making them!
I'm glad to hear someone in this space being conscious about consumerism. It's definitely something more people should address since a lot of seasonal decor is made cheaply and ends up going to waste! However, I love these kinds of videos because they don't sell much Halloween in my country. It gives me the dopamine hit of Halloween shopping when I can't go myself (yes internet shopping blah blah blah but it's not the same)
I couldn't agree more. Although I love watching shop with me videos, for those that buy a lot of decor (year round or seasonal), I often wonder what they do with all that stuff! I know one TH-camr that actually has a storage unit for their decor. That's just wild to me and I'm sure they're not the only one with a storage unit just for excess decor they've purchased. I honestly enjoy just the act of "window shopping" with these kids if videos, especially with content creators that are fun like Midge is. I go Halloween decor hunting often times just to look at the items. I don't usually but a bunch of stuff. There's literally one, maybe two items I want to buy this year.
These help me with the consuming! It’s so fun to just window shop and hear what people think. It keeps me from impulse buying in store and I just hunt for the special picks each year. Love your commentary! No need to buy; just enjoying the spooky creativity. 😊❤😊
I like these videos because I feel like they are almost an historic record at this point, seeing what is out there and what is available and what is commercially interesting from a Halloween perspective. I totally understand you on trying to cut back on purchases, and being more thoughtful about what I actually want to own, but I do also really like to see what exists!
I think there’s a good balance to be found. It’s been - idk, unsettling? - seeing people get more and more worked up over the past few years that they HAVE to get certain decorations and if they don’t the season is ruined. On the other hand, there’s still something to be said about going into a store and seeing all the decor, that little spark in all of us. It’s nice to see what different people think about different pieces of decor too! But I’m more than happy to window shop and only pick up a couple things this season. And always excited to see a video from you!
I absolutely love that people are approaching this upcoming Halloween season with global consciousness and sustainability in mind. I’d love to see more DIY projects! Or like even just having a watch party for films.
Happy to hear you don't shop at Hobby Lobby! I love Michael's (I get my senior citizen's discount), Target, and a few others. I also like to pick things up from local crafters and artisans. 🎃🖤🧡
I love that you do a blend of both! We can find treasures in the store, and also get inspiration of how to breathe life into thrifty finds, and therefore create more unique pieces for our own collections
Your coffin table is gorgeous and I wish I could find one. Yours was never used by a person, so it's just a piece of well crafted furniture. Even if you don't uy anything, you can't negate the seratonin you get walking through Halloween in stores!
I am SO EXCITED that you did a thrift spooky run! I love thrifting for Halloween season. I have that cross tea light holder. It’s from Dollar Tree about 6 years ago. 😉
Love your statement on consumerism. I am shopping more vintage and being very selective over new items due to my collection size also. The past few years I found myself getting caught up in the craze over popular new items only to find that I don’t even really enjoy them anymore!
Love the thrifting content!!! Thrift stores are such a great place for affordable halloween decor, would definitely love to see some occasional thriftoween content in with your regular halloween decor hunting. Also I really appreciate the decor hunt videos, I'm not a big shopper but I love Halloween and am slowly building up my decor collection so it helps me to see if there are any items I want :) Case in point, I'm a little obsessed with those two pumpkins you got at At Home and I might try to grab those at my local store if I can find them!
I love seeing what's available since I'm often home sick and rarely get to leave. Plus, watching you is such a treat for me because you're the very first person that got me into Halloween hunting and creations! But no pressure at all! You do whatever you wish because this is your channel and we'll love whatever content you put out! 🎃🧡🍂
I loooove your Halloween decor hunting videos! I look forward to them every year, but I also respect your decision to show less this year. I’m a HUGE vintage/antique decor lover, so I’m all for videos like that too!! Happy hunting! 🖤🧡
I’m so glad you addressed consumerism. I’ve been have some trouble with that myself lately. It was TH-cam randomly recommending to me Jade the Libra decor hunting that unlocked the spooky part of my brain I had made prisoner so long ago and I do think they have value. These kinds of video’s completely changed the trajectory of my life and I do get it. When you like spooky, this is basically the only time of the year you get to just really shop and that is really where I start to struggle with it. It’s like, I get the frenzy. However, it is frustrating to see it translate to empty store shelves especially when you know most of it was bought by people who are just turning right around and listing it on eBay for twice, or more, the price. It’s also frustrating to see channels set up for the sole purpose of consuming. Channels like yours are so important, though, because you do discuss the lifestyle that is Halloween. That you can make your own spooky stuff and embody it in other ways. I’m losing my point here, haha! Thank you for bringing it up, but also thank you for doing one video a month, because others have brought up the other side of this coin and that is we just love hanging with you, ghoul! I know there can be eye rolls and resistance to vlog style videos, but we love hanging out with you and this why just a few decor hunting videos a year are sssssooooo good, too! This was long, so sorry. I should edit it, but I have to go to the bathroom. 🎃🎃🎃
Literally was just explaining to my dad about halloween hunting season. He said (of course) that its too early whereas I am so excited My goal for this year is to hunt but just for inspiration and to share with folks, but to buy indie brands and only things off my curated wishlist
So, on the flannel topic...I love to cut the bottom off a traditional flannel shirt, dip bleach the bottom or top (not both) then sew the seasonal flannel across the bottom. Sometimes I cut the sleeves shorter and remove the collar as well. It's a cute shacket look. I also put contrasting patches on for a shabby-chic look. I do a lot of upcycled clothing. ❤🎃
I love hunting with the ghouls even if we don't buy anything! I just love to look. ☺️ Oh but I agree with you.. I really don't appreciate things being sold out before we've even gotten through summer.
Videos like this really get me into the Halloween Spirit. Whenever I want a boost of holiday cheer, I watch hauls and decorating videos. They make my heart so happy!
I can't believe how many cool Halloween fabrics JoAnn has much more than before but then you stop and think what am I going to do with it? I also wish we had a Savers here in Wisconsin... Happy Haunted 🎃👻
If you want a good reason to return for those really cute flannel fabrics, flannel makes a fantastic paper towel alternative! I keep squares of it in my kitchen to use instead of paper towels, its super absorbent, and washes up super easy... not to mention super cute!
I don't even live in America or visit these stores and I get kinda stressed out seeing Halloween decor (videos) in June 😂 I think its fun to enjoy each season fully before moving to the next one, and seeing Halloween stuff out when its barely summer doesn't allow you to do that as much? I imagine for people who are visiting these stores there's an urge to panic buy and then you're seriously planning Halloween before you've even gotten a good taste of summer. It can make something that should be fun stressful. And if you're a Halloween all year round kinda person it might be fun, but a lot of the decor seems specifically fall themed Halloween decor, its not Summerween or Spooky Summer, it's 'Get ready for October but it's June'.
Midge you have done it again, I love to do these hunts with you. I just about lost it when you spotted the decal on someone’s car, it was so funny 😂😂😂. Thank you for taking us along on your adventure ❤.
Midge, I had to rewatch parts of this because I kept getting distracted by your FANTASTIC manicure. Absolutely stunning. Thank you for continuing the tradition of decor hunting for spooky season. It makes these humid Midwest dog days of summer so much more tolerable.
There are a lot of second hand Halloween decor options What I do is watch these type videos and then take to eBay for those items or facebook marketplace I do love that you are thinking more about consumerism As we are a nation of “ stuff” and “crap”
I love these type of videos. I'm disabled so I dont have the energy to search through every store to see what they have and these types of videos help me find my pieces of the year! I myself am super picky with what I get so having someone else hoof it and show whats nice and well made is so helpful. The older I get the more I want the things I buy to be lasting pieces that fit my decor year round and some years that's only one or two things.
ohhh yayyyy here we gooo! with my fave glamour ghoul as our lovely hostess with the mostest! 👩🏻🦰🎃☠️ thank you so much Midge, very excited for this years festivities! 🧡🖤
Loved seeing the decor hunt Big Lots for the win the bay candle sticks are amazing ! The super cheap summer foliage I check out too because there are dried flowers and green moss that works well with a witchy cottage theme used some last year….thrift stores are also a great place to find treasures that can fit your theme! I love seeing all Halloween but I’m with you going to have to be very selective! I have the small plug in Crypt Keeper from the nighties excited for Spirit!!
I love going to the stores and just seeing all the Halloween everywhere, I'm actually super picky with the decor I get so I never feel pressured to buy a ton. I also use Halloween decor all year round 😂
I think you are a delight to watch. I found you around Halloween last year, so I missed the real-time hunting so I was excited to see you find things so I could know when to go looking. I'm glad you are still going to do it, even if you will not be buying things. I myself am getting pickier as I lack room lol The adult struggle.
Yayyyyyyy it's FINALLY that time of the year!!!! 🎃💀🎃🦇🎃👻 As I am watching more of the video and I am hearing that you are looking basically for more special pieces and less new ones. Maybe you could do more videos of going to Antique Stores, Estate Sales, Yard Sales or Thrift Stores. Just a few suggestions. I know for me personally I am slowly fazing out "newer Halloween decor" and using more vintage and antique decor and those places I suggested is where I find my items 😉
The Black Cat on the Pumpkin from At Home sold out in my local store (Upstate SC) within 2 days. My local JoAnn Fabrics starting putting out Halloween this week (on Tuesday) & yes I purchased a few things (death head moth stuff). I also got the bat candlesticks from Old Time Pottery. Since my outdoor theme is Haunted Swamp I tend to clean out my local OTP of all their green creepy cloth.
My kid and I watched this video yesterday before going to JoAnn for yarn (not expecting to see any Halloween code orange because our area (Phoenix) is usually 2 months behind you), and LO!! our JoAnn had 0.75 aisles of Halloween decor in the second aisle from the front of the store!! We were so surprised and excited!! As for the consumerism and DIY, I'm totally with you! So I'm approaching code orange with the notion of getting ideas for repurposing and crafting decor. We'd love to see you do more spooky DIY especially because we LOVE your style!!
I live in Alton and I have to say I love the haunted history of this town, every Halloween season I have to go on a haunted tour even though I’ve seen all there is after 43yrs but it just is something traditional around here and wouldn’t be the season without one. My husband and I were even married on Halloween.
I am with you with avoiding consumerism. I do enjoy these videos. I don't plan on buying anything new but it is still fun to window shop. Plus if I'm not in the store myself I'm less likely to buy anything 😅
As someone who lives in an apartment and doesn’t have any of these stores, these videos are a fun look at things that exist that I don’t get to see any other way, combined with “co shopping” feelings. Definitely agree with not buying things you don’t want to have for your home! There is no reason you have to take these things home.
I feel like shipping those grumpy pumpkins is like shipping Waldorf and Statler and I'm not sure how I feel about that, lol... but I am 100% with you on it being too early/fast. I understand fabrics because materials always need to be out early for those making things, but while I do a spooky 365 thing here, I feel like keeping the seasons seasonal keeps them special, y'know? Especially here in Southern California where the seasons are better defined by the stores than the weather.
Other than thrifting and antique shopping, my husband and I have decided to only purchase glass/ceramic, wood or metal items, bonus points if it's a year around piece and if it's resin or other we have to absolutely LOVE it.
Loved the coffin table! I want one and immediately was looking on the marketplace lol. Decor hunting is fun but yes vintage hunts are even better! Just do what you feel. I'm sure we will all enjoy whatever you come up with!
I love the video! You mentioned doing a DIY on the foam pumpkin you found with the cats on it. I’ve never heard or seen the technique you described but am VERY interested. Would you be able to make it into a video so we can watch along?
Oh yeah, on the thrift Halloween! But honestly, I look EVERYWHERE! I notice as I'm sure you have too, it is harder then it used to be finding good thrifted Halloween items. So many are into Halloween now.
I love all the thrifting, crafting, diying videos! The shopping with you videos are fun for me just for ideas mostly. I don’t get out much, and sometimes don’t even have the same stores. This year’s project is potion bottles for my witchy vibe. Can’t wait to see what you do with the dining room and your outdoor display, sounds epic!
Yay I’ve been waiting, not so patiently😂, for your decor shopping videos!!! You keep it real and that’s why I love when you take us. I use the other kind of fabric to make my dog and cat bed covers and I also use the fabric in my rat cages for hammocks and little beds. But I love doing covers especially for my dogs beds so I could change them out all the time depending on my decor mood at the time and to be able to wash them. I’ve seen them and I have even done tie blanket covers for the dog beds.
Thank you for your thoughts on this. I really love to hear your thoughts on all of your Code Orange vids. Shopping with you even though it's window shopping is a blast!!
As someone with a newborn who is moving soon who also has a substantial Halloween decor collection-and therefore will not be buying much this season-I really appreciate that you’re moving away from haul-vibe videos. Love all your stuff Midge!
Hold up. Those pink and purple pumpkins at 34:41 match my kitchen cabinets! I hope I can pick up a matching set somehow. They'd be so cute in my house!
Not even 3 minutes in and you're off to a great start! As much as I enjoy your hauls, I'm so glad you're taking this new approach and appreciating second hand decor and minimizing hauls. It gives us a whole new perspective when trying to find specific vintage pieces that can be used for Halloween, makes it more authentic and better quality to fit the theme you are going for. I started doing this last year with my decor pieces, I had a bunch of brass candle holders that I found at thrift stores and thought it was absolutely perfect to use it for Halloween decor. I even made my own hocus pocus spell, I found a brass book stand to prop up the spell book, I even got lucky and found a spice rack and based the "witches' brewing station" off of the items I found and it turned out amazing. I'm excited to see what else I can find this year to make my home spookier 😈
I always love seeing videos like this because it feels like we're out shopping together, kind of like a spooky field trip lol I also really love seeing what you gravitate towards and what catches your eye. Thank you so much for sharing with us and for continuing to give us peeks into your Campy, Kooky, Glamorous, and Spooky life!!
I’d like to see more antique stores hunting. I appreciate buying less and consuming, buying. More crafts, or repurposed! Also loved the real coffin ⚰️ What about reading 📖 from old books or Halloween spooky children’s books.
Yay, first hunt!!!! Woop woop!!! 🎃🕷🥳 Totally get you wanting to be more minimal in your purchases this year, just finishing touches here and there to add to your collection. Still love going around the shops with you though since here in Belgium (Europe), Halloween is not as celebrated, so this is the only way I get to see all the goodies!!! But honestly, any Halloween content makes me happy so if you want to do thrifting Halloween, it's a big YES from me!!! 😜💕
Honestly, I treat these hunting videos as more of like reaction videos. They are just fun to watch and geek out over, critic and even sometimes shade items. It's also nice to notice the trends as they pass. I can also see it as a resource for folks, but again for me it's the person's personality and reactions. Not the stuff. So if you did these videos and didn't spend a dime I would be just as excited for them ☺☺
I completely understand your feelings about not spending as much on Decor. I too am trying that this year as well more vintage and more crafts!! I enjoy the hunting videos for the serotonin. I appreciate the hard-work you put into these! I’m okay with the one large video a month!! Thank you for being your authentic spooky self!!
I would have been so disappointed had you not done this! It's so exciting to go out with you even if you aren't consuming this fast decor. I love it so much!
The coffee table was morbid, but freaking awesome! Isn’t that the point? There’s history there, a story. It’s not like the body was in there. Don’t stop making Halloween Hunting videos, I live vicariously through these videos. Nothing is near me. I have to buy online, and after getting broken, sent back pieces from At Home, Tj Max, Home Goods, Grandin, etc etc I stopped buying from them, unless it’s a non breakable pillow. Although AtHome did send me a ripped graveyard rug last year. I’m done with the hassle of returns, rude customer service, jumping through hoops..So I love window shopping with you.
I'm so excited!! 😊 thank you for putting these videos out. If in the future you decide not to, we also understand! Do what makes you happy!! We will still watch!!❤
The Old Time Pottery stuff looks awesome, too bad there's apparently only one in my state and it's well over an hour away! ): Well, I guess that's one way to keep some restraint on how much stuff I end up with lol! Fun Halloween Hunting "with" you Midge, though I also have mixed feelings on how early the Halloween/fall stuff is coming out we know ghouls like you will give us Halloween surprises to look forward to in actual October!
Thank you for continuing to do decor hunting videos this year!! I'm allergic to the sun/heat, so I don't get out much this time of year and these videos give me my Halloween fix until the weather cools (even though I don't actually want to see Halloween in stores near me until September lol). I don't buy much in the way of new Halloween, either. I actually go more for secondhand finds that are need of a good home. But I still love seeing what retailers come up with. And I'm pretty excited for that pumpkin animatronic too.
I love this direction and season of your life. Happy to be "shopping" with you, but I am certainly in the same boat for the last few years now of less consuming. 🖤
I agree that it feels like everything is going so fast this year! Getting it in small doses until it’s fully spooky season is what makes it fun in my opinion!
You do you girl, and if that means cutting back on decor hunting videos then that's what's right for you. For me thrifting is not an option. I live in a country that don't really do Halloween decor so there's definitely nothing besides cheap costumes to be found in thrift stores. So instead I save up all year, shop online from the US, and import stuff from there. Due to the extra costs involved I can't really afford to buy things that I don't really want so for me decor hunting videos are key when creating my wishlist for the season.
These videos are more than just seeing stores. It’s so nice to share with you and other ghouls the fun items for Halloween. Not all of us get to go see the stores so it’s a nice escape. Thank you so much for sharing! 🧡🦇🧡👻
I’m here for Thriftoween! I got all 75+ brass candlesticks I used in my wedding from various thrift stores over the course of a year. It was epic.
As a minimalist, environmentalist, and a huge fan of Halloween, it's awesome to be able to stay home and live vicariously through you during these decor hunts! No one Halloween hunts as glamorous as Midge Munster!! Love the outfit and overall look!! 🧡
Most definitely.🖤🧡
I like these videos because I feel like they are almost an historic record at this point, seeing what is out there and what is available and what is commercially interesting from a Halloween perspective. We all love decor hunting with you midge! Just spooky pals shopping together 🎃🧡
I absolutely love that people are approaching this upcoming Halloween season with global consciousness and sustainability in mind. I’d love to see more DIY projects! Or like even just having a watch party for films.
You can always just show us the stuff and take us along, you don’t need to buy anything. We’d like it all the same 🧡
Cannot wait to see the haunted graveyard! Also would LOVE to see the spooky melting pumpkin technique! 🎃
I'm not a halloween decorator but I LOVE watching halloween hunting vids.

Just a thought, what if you repurposed used items to resemble or DIY them into things you’ve seen at the stores! Could be a fun project!
I am SO EXCITED that you did a thrift spooky run! I love thrifting for Halloween season. I have that cross tea light holder. It’s from Dollar Tree about 6 years ago. 😉
It's not decor hunting without Midge!🧡
Midge: singing, “expensiiiiiiive”
Me: yes, queen. I need the whole album!
Love your statement on consumerism. I am shopping more vintage and being very selective over new items due to my collection size also. The past few years I found myself getting caught up in the craze over popular new items only to find that I don’t even really enjoy them anymore!
I am sooooo excited to see a 40 min MM Halloween Hunting vid! 🖤🎃
First Halloween hunt of the season!! Woop woop!!
Thrift Halloweening is the best. I always score strangely creepy dolls and diy them to be even creepier.
Woootttt🎉🎉Happy Halloween 🎃👻🖤🖤💀🦇
I am trying to do more secondhand and vintage Halloween this year. I did however score the Cracker Barrel Witch. She is lovely!
Love the thrifting content!!! Thrift stores are such a great place for affordable halloween decor, would definitely love to see some occasional thriftoween content in with your regular halloween decor hunting.

I love Thriftoween! I like watching the store videos so I can get a better idea of what I could get. (I thank you for also not going to Hobby Lobby.)
“ I love spotting fellow spookies in the wild”. 😂LOL . ME TOO!👻. LOVE YOUR NAILS!
I love seeing what's available since I'm often home sick and rarely get to leave. I love those cute lil funny face pumpkins. I'm in Canada and I don't know if we'll get them here

I got a little summer rainstorm AND this video today 🥰😍🎃
Midge, I had to rewatch parts of this because I kept getting distracted by your FANTASTIC manicure. Absolutely stunning. Thank you for continuing the tradition of decor hunting for spooky season. It makes these humid Midwest dog days of summer so much more tolerable.
The coffin table was amazing! I feel the same way, cuz we are running out of room lol so trying to scale back as well.
There are a lot of second hand Halloween decor options
What I do is watch these type videos and then take to eBay for those items or facebook marketplace
I do love that you are thinking more about consumerism
As we are a nation of “ stuff” and “crap”
Love those little grumpy pumpkins! Also, Midge, I am in love with your eye makeup in this video with the green earrings! Gorgeous.
The thrift store is my favorite place to hunt for Halloween. Especially during October you can find some really cool stuff.
As I am watching more of the video and I am hearing that you are looking basically for more special pieces and less new ones.
🎉yes I have been waiting for this moment 🎃⚰️🕯️🦇
Glad you will still be doing these videos...it's nice to see what's there before making that trip to Old Time Pottery! :O
YES YOU HAVE TO KEEP DOING THESE VIDEOOOOOOSSSSS
25:00 aww I love the cat pumpkin!😆🥰 my cat’s name is Goose!
I am so excited to see your sleepy hollow display! It sounds amazing!
Love hanging with you here and especially fun seeing thrifted stuff and ideas for it. 🧡
Fun times 😁. Thank you for taking us w/ you Midge.
Also loved the real coffin ⚰️
What about reading 📖 from old books or Halloween spooky children’s books.
Yay, first hunt!!!! Woop woop!!! 🎃🕷🥳
Totally get you wanting to be more minimal in your purchases this year, just finishing touches here and there to add to your collection. Still love going around the shops with you though since here in Belgium (Europe), Halloween is not as celebrated, so this is the only way I get to see all the goodies!!! But honestly, any Halloween content makes me happy so if you want to do thrifting Halloween, it's a big YES from me!!! 😜💕
Michael's usually sells the large version of those pumpkins and if you use a coupon you can get them at a pretty good price.
Happy hunting👍🏻🧙
Those flannel fabrics, they would make amazing shirts, like those plaid lumberjack shirts, but Halloween!
I would totally make some Halloween dolls out of the Hilarious pumpkins!! Great Video!!
I stopped by the Lee's Summit At Home after work today. They didn't have the ghost I was looking for but they were otherwise pretty well stocked.
Omg I love your nails!! Definitely wanna do something like that for my next set. I tried to get a picture of them lol
At Home and Joann in MA and CT are fully stocked for halloween!
Yes! Here we go!
I love this direction and season of your life. Happy to be "shopping" with you, but I am certainly in the same boat for the last few years now of less consuming. 🖤
Please don't ever stop posting videos love love love your channel one of the best channels ever live every single video you have❤❤❤❤
I agree that it feels like everything is going so fast this year!
